I have a Philips Model PET702/37 DVD player. It has constant static in the speakers, even if I have the DVD player on pause. I can't hear the person speaking on the DVD and it is VERY annoying. Can you help me?

It sounds like that you might have a high voltage arch or a bad connection on the audio amp board. You can take the back off and with the lights off, or in a dark room you can look for something arching.

Loud speaker static when the car is off. It drained that battery. I tried pulling the radio fuse but it was still making the noise. I had to disconnect the battery to get it to stop. Any ideas?

I GUESS that the speakers are driven by an after market amplifier. An amplifier needs to be connected to a power source that is only on when the radio is on, through a relay.

So I GUESS that:
  1. The wiring is incorrect. Or
  2. If is has a relay, the relay is stuck.

My speakers do not work on my system even though i hear static through them??

Static is audio, so the speakers are probably working. What source(s) produce the static (FM maybe)? Have you referred to the manuals for setup and are NOT mismatching speakers and amps?

How do i connect a aiwa 2.0 speakers to philips dvd player?

In general, speakers don't connect directly to a DVD player (model unknown) as DVD players generally have no way of amplifying a signal to speaker level.

Assuming the speakers were self-powered, you would not be able to control the volume since DVD players generally have no output controls.

I have found nothing online that matches "aiwa 2.0" as a unique speaker model.

Can you re-describe the speakers and the DVD player piece?

Philips Home Theater - Annoying high pitch sound while on standby

I have the same problem with the same model, so obviously it's not a single-unit problem. My only solution, since taking it back isn't feasible at this point, is to have a DVD on play-pause so that it's not on standby. Waste of energy, so I don't do it all the time, only when I'm sitting in the room late at night making the high-pitched noise hard to ignore.

Philips DVDR725 continiously on and off, tried a hard reset, even with Philips helpdesk - no solution. I have a firmware update on DVD (finalized. How do I install this DVD now?

Hello, You should replace the TWO 22uF 400v. capacitors in the input stage of the HD PSU. they are most likely compleatly "caput" The PSU is located under the Harddisk.

Pls. take care of static - charges i.e. ground yourselve to the unit when you plan to fix... else would reccomend a trained technician to make the repair..

The sales person said i could receive fm radio on this mp3 player

When it's booted up use the +/- buttons to navigate to radio, press play/pause to enter the radio tuner, it's default station is 88.something , use the |<< and the >>| buttons to navigate stations, hold the player around in the air to fin good reception, look around in the radio menu and you can record songs/talk shows off the radio, be careful, if you're recording and you hear static, it will record the static. good luck!

Connecting Creative t6060 to my philips 5.1 dvd player

Hi Guys,
I am teh person who started this thread and I am happy to find the solution. The problem is not with Speaker but it is with DVD player. Infact it is not a problem, it is the setting which needs to be changed.
Go to the Setup menu and change the Speaker settings and set it to MultiChannel. This will give you sound to rear and center whenever it has to.

Hope this helps as it has to me.

Static from multiple DVD's

I know what happened.

Your son was watching a porn flick and decided to pause the dvd when he saw a hot scene.

He was trying to **** off (but couldn't) and left it on pause too long, eventually burning out the unit.
