I have an older dishwasher also and recently my wife also complained about it not cleaning right... so me being the man I am tried in vain to clean the things... Bought new spray arms online and installed them in minutes...now the thing works like new... However I have also found that if the heating element goes bad then that also can mess things up bad... So I would buy new spray arms, and also check out the heating element to make sure it is working... Here is a tip that will help you with the online buying...

Mary, have you checked the sprayer holes being plugged up with gunk. Remove the lower rack and inspect the spinner/sprayer holes turn by hand and notice if there is anything rattling around in the sprayer. I am not familiar with how the sprayer wand is attached on that unit but alot have a plastic nut you can turn to get it off and clean it thru the bottom water input hole. Or a cap with a screw under it.

Frigidaire Model FDB780RCB0 I am getting water in the machine but it seems the arms are not turning what can I do to get that fixed?
The pump in the dishwasher is supposed to provide enough water pressure to turn the spray arms and make them rotate. The pump is faulty and not giving enough pressure or the arms are stuck.
Try spinning the arms, if they rotate smoothly, you will need to replace the pump.

1)wash arm not spraying(or)rinse not spraying?

wash arm
1)remove the wash arm
2)switch on the machine all blockaged removed automatically.(remove the wash arm).

rinse arm
1)check any scaling in the boiler tank.
2)clean the boiler tank.
3)clean the rinse arm.

I have never replaced the parts in a sprayer .In the book that I usually order from they only sell the compleat spayer.Im not saying that they dont make kits for them. but I havent seen them, Untill you can get you another sprayer unscrew the sprayer from the hose on the bottom there is a flat washer flip it around.that should work for a while.

First porblems first; go to Home Depot and pick up two Gator Bite valves (no pipe sweating...work great!), appropriately sized and replace hot/cold water valves under the sink. It would also be best to get 1/4 turn valves instead of a gate valve.

The spray hose is connected at the base of the faucet itself - in the very center of the bottom side of the faucet. It's a very tight and difficult area to work in - you should be able to usscrew the old hose and place the new one directly where the old one was removed.

Make sure that the spray bar when lifted by the water pressure is NOT hitting the dish rack OR has excessive friction. Test by manually lifting and turning.

Also the jets must exit at an angle to provide the torque.
