Question about HTC Cell Phones

1 Answer

The screen is blank but the phone still powers up and will answer calls if you drag your finger across the screen like you normally would when the screen is working. would this be an LCD screen problem or a digitizer problem?

What i would recommened before any more analysis is concluded is to perform a hard reset. this means that you will lose all data on the phone. if it connect to pc for sync then you can backup before performing a hard reset.
HERE IS THE STEP TO PERFORM A HARD RESET
1. holding the two keys above the red and green keys. (the soft keys as they are called.)

2. with your hand still on the two keys use the stylus pen and insert it into the "reset hole". mostly located at the buttom of the phone.

do let me know the outcome of if there is something that u do not understand

New phone and don't understand PAMPHLET.

Most phones are finger swipe controlled. You place finger on the screen and drag it to get to the next screen. To dial a number swipe across screen and find app called phone
press finger on icon to open application.
If you tell us what you don't understand we might be able to explain it more accurately.

I'm just learning to use it. I don't know where to find the names of the icons which are referenced in the tutorials. Where/How do I find the identities of the icons?

These new smart phone devices require you to re think how you access items. Think of multiple screens to the right of the screen in an imaginary place. Now by putting your finger on the right hand side of the screen and dragging your finger to the left of the screen. Like keep your finger in contact with the screen and drag it across the screen.
It seems hard but after a while you will not even have to think about it . Windows 8.1 with a touch screen monitor also utilises this approach to getting more items onto the screen.
You may need to look for a icon that has lots of dots on it that brings up all the applications list from the phones main menu.

How to use phone/Samsung galaxy Samsung galaxy S 111

I am assuming you just updated your phone Robert and if you have not used a smart phone before it is very daunting. One of the unknown things is using your finger. Unlike your old phone the smart phone is touch screen so drag your finger across the screen and it goes to the next page also touch icons on the screen to select. So if you want to call there will be a phone icon. They usually also assume everyone knows how to use a smart phone and do not provide a user manual.
find the model number under the battery
then try and find a user manual

HTC HD7 going blank on calls...

I had this same problem. There could be a few reasons. Starting with the simplest:
Finger placement; sometimes your fingers may wrap around and touch the screen while using it causing the proximity sensor to turn the display off.
Screen protectors; I got lucky because my problem was being caused by the screen protector i was using. It had come off a bit in my pocket and gotten scratched on the part that touches the screen which messed up with the proximity sensor. All i had to do was take off the protector and the problem was fixed.
Sensor Malfunction; The proximity sensor in the phone is malfunctioning and you can try to hard reset the phone but usually if it is malfunctioning you just need to get it fixed or replace the phone. If your phone is still under warranty you should probably use it.

Purchased B5722 samsung cell phone yesterday. Kindly assist me in solving the following problems: (a) Cell Phone Sim1 and Sim2 both reject calls made from residence Landline, but when calling from Sim1...

Dear Please find the answers below:
(a) Cell Phone Sim1 and Sim2 both reject calls made from residence Landline, but when calling from Sim1 and Sim2 to residence Landline, both calls go through.
This is actually the problem of service provide I think as this some times happens with me as well, try other landline nos, if it works it is not the handset problem.
(b) To set Ringtones to Call Alert Sim1, tried: Menu - Settings - Phone Profiles - Normal - Voice Edit . The screen does not change on pressing Voice Call Ringtones. Spent countless hours trying to set Ringtones for incoming calls of Sim1 & Sim2, Messages alert for Sim1 & Sim2, but did not succeed
You have to do as follows: Menu - Settings - Phone Profiles - Normal - Edit - Voice Call Ringtone - Music - Card / Phone and chose your required Ring tone.
(c) Could not clear multiple Icons overlapping each other on main screen.
You have to tap on the Screen the Widgets will come on left side. Put your finger on the Icon - Icon will increase in Size - now without picking the finger from Screen just drag the icons on the Left Widget Slider bar, it will go on it.
Prompt reply shall be sincerely appreciated

Hope this will help.

Lg km900 blank screen during an incoming call -

There is a little rectangle shape thing next to the lg logo on the top of the fone screen. If this is blocked by screen protector it will cause the phone to blank of during calls. Its a power saver that blanks the phone when its near your face. Try it. Take off the screen protector & make a call. Then place your finger over the little thing & the screen goes blank. Just cut a lil space in the screen protector & that will fix the problem

My iphone had magnified the icons so that you can only see six at a time on the screen, how do i get that back to normal?

This might help....

ZoomMany iPhone applications let you zoom in and out specific elements. For example, you can double-tap or use the pinch gesture to expand webpage columns in Safari. Zoom is a special accessibility feature that lets you magnify the entire screen of any application you’re using to help you see what’s on the display.
Turn Zoom on or off: In Settings, choose General > Accessibility > Zoom and tap the Zoom On/Off switch.
NOTE: You cannot use VoiceOver and Zoom at the same time.
Zoom in or out: Double-tap the screen with three fingers. By default, the screen is magnified by 200 percent. If you manually change the magnification (by using the tap-and-drag gesture, described below), iPhone automatically returns to that magnification when you zoom in by double-tapping with three fingers.
Increase magnification: With three fingers, tap and drag toward the top of the screen (to increase magnification) or toward the bottom of the screen (to decrease magnification). The tap-and-drag gesture is similar to a double-tap, except you don’t lift your fingers on the second tap—instead, drag your fingers on the screen. Once you start dragging, you can drag with a single finger.
For best results using three-finger gestures, relax and let your fingers touch the screen naturally.
Move around the screen: When zoomed in, drag or flick the screen with three fingers. Once you start dragging, you can drag with a single finger so that you can see more of the screen. Hold a single finger near the edge of the display to pan to that side of the screen image. Move your finger closer to the edge to pan more quickly. When you open a new screen, Zoom always goes to the top-middle of the screen.
