If I understand correctly, your garbage disposal came loose from the sink basket.
I had to take it - geno_3245_52.jpg

The darker blue arrows point to the connector disc.
The connector disc rotates freely when garbage disposal is not connected to sink basket.
The trick is to lift the disposal into place with one hand.
Push up hard while keeping disposal
perfectly flat and aligned with sink basket.
Then use other hand to rotate connector until it catches on sink basket.

Before starting:
Disconnect the tubular drain pipes because these pipes will have to be re-sealed.
The electric wire and dishwasher hose can stay connected

If you are disabled or impaired, use a car jack or bottle jack to lift the disposal ... but go slow and don't lift the whole sink.

Now to reconnect the tubular drain pipes.
All drain pipes that were moved during the garbage disposal event should be taken apart.
Disassemble these pipes.
Clean the pipes and washers.
If washers are rubber, buy new ones.
If washers are plastic, re-use old ones after they are cleaned.
I use rectoseal on all tubular washers when installing pipes under the sink.
Coat the washers with plenty of rectoseal and the tubular drain pipes will seal first-time with no leaks.

Then chain keeps falling apart

I imagine you have probably figured this out by now, but I'm going to go ahead and answer it anyway because when I searched for an answer to this question ealier today, I couldn't find one anywhere.
It is not initially apparent, but the chain pieces snap together. When you try to put them together, they seem to just loosely fit in place, but if you PUSH them together, they will snap together very easily and hold together without any problems.

Our disposal is full of water, and will not drain down. we had orange peels in there, which seem to not be in there any longer, but the water will not drain out of the disposal. We have a Badger as well.

Take apart P-trap located under sink.
Take photos of everything before starting so things go back easy.
Remove stuff from under sink, get some old towels, and put bucket under sink to catch water.
Loosen both nuts on P-trap and it will fall loose.
Turn on water and turn on disposal for a moment to see if blockage will fall down into catch bucket.
If disposal is still blocked, remove tailpiece connected to side of disposal and then clean out disposal with coat hanger, and/or plastic pipe that is duct-taped to shop vac hose. For a real mess, turn on the water and run disposal to clear blockage while tailpiece is off.

Clean and reassemble parts.
I use rectorseal for all tubular joints so they will not leak.
For re-assembly, I wrote tips with photos from days when I worked apartment maintenance.

How do you disassemble the Badger5 1/2 horsepower sink erator.model #5-81

The badger has two parts:
1) The sink strainer basket that attaches to sink with three screws visible from below.
2) The disposal which connects to sink basket with connector ring.
There is a rubber washer between disposal and sink basket

If you drop disposal loose from the sink, you can get spoons and other stuff out.
The disposal itself does not come apart for repairs.

I wrote tips for replacing disposal, which include information you might be able to use:

When I worked apartment maintenance, we replaced disposal with same brand disposal.
That way we didn't have to change out sink basket or move pipes around under the sink.
How to: Disconnect 2 nuts on p-trap and trap falls loose.
Rotate steel connector disk that holds disposal to sink basket, and disposal comes off.
Before installing new disposal.
Attach electric wire to new disposal, and push in reset button.
Attach dishwasher tube to new disposal. Knock out plug inside dishwasher opening.
Push new disposal up into place, and attach to old sink basket.
There is a rubber washer between disposal and sink basket, use new washer.
Attachment ring catches at three points, all three have to connect.
You can use bottle jack to lift disposal if you have problem.
Re-assemble tubular pipe.

If this is your home, you want new sink basket that comes with new disposal because it looks shiny and new.
Buy a tub of plumbers putty also.
Remove old sink basket and clean sink opening.
Put finger-size roll of plumbers putty around sink opening, and then push new strainer basket into plumbers putty.
Tighten basket from below, wipe away excess putty around sink opening.
Install new disposal as described above.

Tips for tubular pipes:
When taking apart tubular pipes, start at p-trap and take apart as few pieces as needed to do job.
On image below, loosen both upper and lower nuts, trap falls loose, and then work on disposal.
Any tubular drain pipe that gets moved while working under sink needs to be disassembled, cleaned and re-assembled.
Metal pipes have rubber washer >> always use new rubber washers.
Plastic pipes have plastic washers > plastic washers can be cleaned and re-used.
Plastic washers have flat side that goes toward nut, tapered side away from nut.

When reassembling tubular pipe, we use rectorseal on washers and joints.
Slap a good amount on washer just before pushing washer in place and attaching nut.
Rectorseal will ensure tubular drain pipes won't leak.

I was able to figure out how to get the handles apart, but can't figure out for the life of me how to get the center spout removed. Faucet is a Moen & Villeta Two Handle Lavatory Faucet

I took a look at the brand on the web and though I do not know your model, it appears that the center spout would have to be loosened from down under the sink and then pulled up from the top. Those units usually come in three parts, two valves and the spout. The valves are put in from under the vanity/sink and the spout is put in from above the vanity/sink.

Insulation falling off bottom of sink

This insulation is important as a sound reducer so I would definitely glue it back into place. Go to any home depot, lowes, or other hardware store and get construction adhesive, the tacky kind will work best for your purpose. Then just put a thin coat directly on the bottom of the sink and stick your rubber back in place.

Ecofan only turns slowly

These fans can be rebuilt! Like many others, our fan died after being placed in the center of the stove top. I took the two halves of the fan body apart, and scraped the heat sink compound off either side of the power plate. I then applied CPU heat sink compound that can be found at any computer or electronics store liberally to either side, and put it back together. The fan spins like new, spread the word!
