Hi John, doing a reinstall is not advised unless you completely remove the software first. (Power off the printer).
Try removing all software for the 6200. Once all of the software has been removed restart the system. Check if the 6200 is still listed in, Printers and Faxes. (If it is listed delete it). Than download & install RegCure, which is a free program that will clean windows registry from all none needed keys. Download RegCure from this link: http://www.pctuneuptips.com/recommends/clean/?gclid=CL2RiIrTmpICFSFMGgodODIPzg
Restart your system when RegCure has finished.
Now you can safely reinstall your printer software.
This is a scanner error. The light bar that goes back and forth during a scan is getting stuck for some reason. You might also double check your cartridges.
There is a complete article about this on the Lexmark website at:
The user's guide should be installed on your computer (Look under Lexmark 6200 Series in your Start Menu) You can also find the manuals at http://www.lexmark.com/publications/eng/6200/index.html
