the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

How to chance shutter speed in canon sx 260

For direct control over the shutter speed, set your camera to the Tv (time value) mode. See the "Specific Shutter Speeds (Tv Mode)" section in the user guide (page 140 in my copy).

If you need the user guide, you may download a copy from here.

How can I add the date to my photos on my canon sx 100is

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

When taking a picture with my Canon PowerShot SX 100IS in the right corner on the screen i get a camera sign with lines below it in red, what do i do?

Look in your camera manual for the page that shows all the icons that can appear on your screen. That one should be listed and explained.

Switched to MAC - have EOS40D and SX100 - will not download SX100

Yes, you need to install the SX100 driver software as well. I wouldn't overwrite older versions of the Canon software, though, so do a selective install if you can.

Manually setting shutter speed and aperture..

http://web.canon.jp/imaging/eosd/eosdigital4/specifications.html

First off, welcome to the world of photography! Good luck and have fun!!!

Like any slr, you have the option of Manual exposure. I'm not familiar w/ modern Canons (I use Nikon). According to this page, however, you also have aperture priority and shutter priority. I'm pretty sure ALL modern Canons have bracketing modes as well (Use this for HDR).

I couldn't find the 450 manual (I'm assuming Canon's web devs are behind), but I did find the instruction manual for the 400 :

http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/0900000357/EOSDRXTi400DIM-EN.pdf

Should be similar, probably w/o some of the functions. Although you SHOULD have a book w/ your camera ;). Read it thoroughly.

Ok, according to the 400 manual, put your camera into Manual mode, then adjust the regular dial to adjust shutter speed. Then, to adjust aperture, hold in the A/V button while you adjust the same dial.

Like I said, may be a bit different. I think the dial may even be digital buttons rather than analog...

hope this helps!!!

F-stop issues

See pages 36&37 of the manual.

If you haven't got one, you can download it here.

In M mode...

Turn the selector dial to adjust shutter speed.

Hold down the AV+/- button (top-right of rear screen) and turn selector dial to adjust aperture setting.

As for Av mode, this is perfectly normal that you cannot set the shutter speed. Av mode means that you decide on the aperture setting and the camera (not you!) decides on the correct shutter speed.

Hope this helps,

Matt.
