Hello,

check the back of the monitor, you will see a wire connecting from the monitor to the CPU. Make sure the wire is is firmly connected to the CPU. That wire is called VGA cord and that's what makes the CPU display on the monitor.

It is possible that the wire is shaking and that might be what's making it loose contact and can cause the screen to flash.

Let me know what happens when firmly connect the VGA cord/wire.

Good luck.

Dark Screen on Acer Aspire 5735z

That sounds like the bulb in the screen is blown. I have changed them at times but it is very tricky and I'm pretty sure you won't find a reputable place to do it for you.
Effectively in answer to your question the only rational solution is to change the LCD panel, it's not very difficult to do on the aspires, just a few screws and peel off the tape holding the screen connector in place, disconnect the inverter cables, (pink and white) and swop for the new panel. check ebay etc for a new LCD panel they're not that expensive. Try to get a new one instead of a second hand one. to find out what panel you need, you'll have to open the screen and look at the back, it'll have a paper sticker showing the model number.

My suggestion is to replace the LCD with new one. Let the certified technician to work on that. You cannot perform the DIY on that. Its too complicated.

Replaced the broken screen in my Acer Aspire One D150 (10 inch). It seems to work fine, except when the computer is powered off. The screen remains ON and completely white when the computer is turned off....

Sounds like your "Backlight" is not powering off.
Are you sure it is an exact replacement?
Check ALL your connections again, perhaps ya have a bad one...?
Have you got the latest drivers?

ACER EXTENSA 4620-4605 model screen problem

If you wiggle the screen and it comes back, then it is not your Video card. Probably just a loose connection with your LCD cable to the LCD screen. Although you may also need a new screen/cable.

The weird thing is that it "fades" out... which would indicate a bad screen to me.. but securing the cable is alot cheaper to try first.

Completely rule out your graphics card by connecting your laptop to an external monitor... if it works fine for a long period of time then your card is fine.

Good Luck.

Wireless network access: 1 laptop fine, other not so much

Check the wireless card on the PC first. Go to "My Computer" then "Device Manager" and check to se if all the hardware is ok.

Use Control panel/netconnections to check to see if you still have a wireless connection and if it works. Also check "My Network Places." Try re-installing the drivers.

As a last resort....try System Restore if it's an XP or Vista system. Remember - using system restore will return the PC to an earlier time but you could lose some stuff so decide first.

Acer aspire one will not work.

Hi,

If you get a post screen with Acer written on it at startup, and the screen turns off when loading the system (Windows or Linux), then you need to reinstall the system using an external USB cd unit and the recovery disk that was provided with your Acer.

If instead the display has no screen at all , try connecting an external monitor to test the laptop.

If you get picture on external monitor, then the Aspire One has a faulty LCD ribbon cable or a faulty LCD display or inverter.

If you get no picture on external screen , then you have a faulty motherboard, possibly faulty video chipset on motherboard.

In any case check your Acer One warranty, all the faults listed are covered by Acer warranty for one year.
Contact Acer at the number listed on documentation to have the computer repaired.

Possible monitor or graphics card malfunction

The monitor is bad. The flashing is telling you that something inside the monitor has gone out. If it is still under warranty they should either fix your monitor or give you a replacement. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer.

Green Flash power only on one computer

It sounds like the monitor functions properly and your computer functions properly, but the combination causes a problem. Try making sure the screen resolution on your main computer is set to an acceptable resolution for your monitor - AL1916. Try setting it low to 800x600 and move up from there until it doesn't work anymore. You can change the screen resolution from the Display Settings (right click on the desktop and select Display Settings) window.

Black screen

Hey there everett 403, my first suggestion would be that your video card is malfunctioning. You have not mentioned if you installed one. If you have one installed, begin by removing it and switching your monitor connection to the onboard port. If this works to get the screen working, then next step is to replace the video card. If it is still not working, try removing your ram. Check it for damage of any sort. If good, reinstall and ensure to seat properly. I would also check the light on your motherboard. If it flashes, there may be a problem with your board, such as burnt capacitors. If these solutions do not solve, please include info on configuration and peripherals, and anything different you have been doing with your machine as of late. Good Luck!
