Just refilled my black cartridge at Walgreens and I am getting cartridge error refer to device documentation to troubleshoot

You must be using HP60.
Have you refill your cartridge at all?

If you did, gentely wipe out the cartridge circuit part with Q-tip (with bit of alcohol).
And wipe out the circuit part in the printer where cartridge goes in as well.

And try back.
Sometimes by having some dust or bit of ink make cartridge unreadable.


If you used brand new, do same thing to cartridge circuit part.
Otherwise, there got to be some circuit shot happen in printer.

For your reference, HP4580 is pretty new model and has not cause major problem.
Good practical and durability is good.

you need to replace one or both of your cartridges with new ones
if you have the old you can check , what cartridge couse the error and you can refill the old one like this

1) Did you take off the pink plastic pull tab? (If not, do so) 2) Are you using the right cartridges? (If not, do so) 3) Are you inserting the cartridge correctly? (pg 104 MANUAL) 4) Disconnect all cables, wait 20 secs, and try again
If all else fails, try troubleshooting section of the manual in step 3.

remove the cartridges and clean the metal contacts with tissue paper and put it back. if the problem continues check the cartridges.

Refilled ink cartridges at Walgreens, printer won't recognize


Hello!
28 and 29 are not meant to be refilled. They can physically be refilled, but they won't work. That is because Lexmark has put in a smart chip that doesn't allow refill.
You need to buy 28A and 29A or 34 and 35, those cartridges can be refilled with no problem.

Error: Remove and replace color cartridge


Because the software inside the cartridge was not reset. They do not have the electronic equiptment to do that.  I believe you woudl have to refill the ink before you got the empty mesasage?

Cartridge error


How I solved this problem was, I took out the color cartridge (which seem to be the one giving the error message) and worked only with the black ink (and chose print black and white )

My color ink cartridge had been refilled at Walgreens. The Black ink cartridge is an original Lexmark
