Question about Gateway AR-230 DVD Recorder
DVD player was playing fine until I tried to play a VCR tape which I had done in the past. The screen was blank, but I had audio. Comcast had the VCR going through the DVD player when it was working. Comcast would not come out because the cable was working properly. The DVD and VCR on the LCD was working fine--just no picture on TV. With manual we tried to troubleshoot, but it still would not give us a picture. I have bought a new DVD and VCR combination player and it works fine. What do you suggest?
If you were using RCA cables, you may have had them hooked up wrong. I know this may sound like an easy fix, but I still hook them up wrong from time to time. Especially if there are more than one set of RCA hook-ups on the back of the unit. If you were using a S-video cable you shouldn't have to use RCA cables, if you had both hooked up that could cause your DVD/VCR unit to not work properly and only get a partial feed to the TV. I hope this helps a little. Good luck.
