Question about Philips Televison & Video
Modern tv's have power supplys that shut down on standby when faults appear , often its capacitors in power supply that fail, they usually go like batteries and leak. You can sometimes spot them ( with a trained eye) they swell up .... but not a repair for the novice.
capacitors are cheap, so i would not expect a large bill for parts
but time for engineer , uplift , bench repair , delivery . vat etc wow £ 100 or more
ps (had same fault with friends tv) I fixed it for £ 20.
