I just downloaded a cpu monitor from for my wife's gateway.

If you go to their home page and download version 1.48 it should give you the stats for your chipset.
Hope that works for you!

We received a donation of Dell Optiplex 755 Mini Towers. I can determine which and the proper order of LAN/Network driver (1,2,3 etc.) installations.

Find your specific model on
First, look for a "chipset" device-driver. If it exists, install it first, and reboot.
Second, look for an Ethernet device-driver. Download it to a USB memory-stick, and move the memory-stick to the Dell, and install it.
Third, the order of the other device-drivers does not matter, but having a working Ethernet connection makes it much easier to download/install the other device-drivers, and also to run "Windows Update" to download more device-drivers directly from Microsoft's web-site.

Alert chipset heat sink not detected

would help if u can provide info about ur system specs/model. something u can try is to make sure the fans and htsnks on ur system and any cables specifically for thermal sensing are seated/connected properly and check for updates to the bios of your system. u can usually check the support site of your computer manufacturer to check for updates to the bios and chipsets. hope that helps

Does 1rx8 ram go along with 2rx8?

Look at your motherboard manual, it tells you what kind of memory, which slots to use for number of sticks.

Your statement makes no sense, 1r, what is this ?

There is speed and size of memory.

DDR-, DDR 2 or DDR3, then speed, DDR3 2000 which each speed has a corresponding number.

DDR3 2000 is called ( PC3 16000 )

The chipset of the motherboard dictates what size and speed of memory that it can use.

I have a Cisnet Model CA-ST501 PC and I would like to kwon if I would have to update my BIOS or chipset to install memory chips of 400 speed instead of 333 speed.

If your memory config in the bios is set to automatic, then you shouldnt have to update the bios.Or the chipset.

If however there is a bios and chipset update available, then i would update them both after you install the new memory chips.

Blue screen on start-up. Mobo SIS-741 Chipset SIS741GX Rev 03

This problem can be caused by several things. First, are the memory chips exactly identical (brand, type, size, etc.)? If not, that will definitely cause the problem. Second, how many memory slots are there? If you have four, check the manual and make sure you're putting the memory in the correct slots. Some Mobo's require that you put chips in slots A1 and B1 and not A1 and A2. Also, some Mobo's have DDR slots and DDR2 slots, so make sure you're putting the right kind of memory into the proper slots. Some people fudge the memory by putting 400 mhz memory into slower slots, and that works one chip at a time - but if you install a second, identical chip, the system will fail. If all else fails and you've met these conditions, check the type of memory to be sure of the proper fit (use manufacturer's recommended brands and numbers) or try a different chip in the second slot. One chip could be bad.

Install drivers

This is most probably happening because there's a chipset driver for the
motherboard that you haven't installed. There should be a basic driver CD
that came with the system, or you can determine the motherboard make and
model (it's usually screen-printed on the board) and from that you can find
the manufacturer's site and get that driver set. Installing that is the
first thing to do after a Windows reinstall.
If you don't have luck with finding the chipset drivers you need, another
posibility is to go to the Windows Update site (start/all programs/windows
update, at the top) and letting the site look for drivers you need. It's in a
list of sections of update, on the left.

Question from docustor re:ASUS Intel 810 Chipset MEW-AM

the intel 810 chipset requires very specifically made 256meg sticks to support that much memory. the 256 meg standard has changed, and the 810 wont support the ram unless it is made by the old specs. smaller ram sticks such as 64 and 128 will not have this problem.
