Question about Lexmark X2500 All-In-One Printer

I purchased a black replacement cartridge from Walmart and after trying to instal it about ten times with no success I went back to Walmart and purchased another one as I didn't know whether the problem was me, the cartridge or the printer. When I put the new cartridge in the printer it worked on the first try. Now, I can onlly conclude that the first cartridge was defective so I took it back to Walmart. However, they refused to accept it and I am now out $59.90 + tax. with only one cartridge working. Your comments would be appreciated. A refund for the defective cartridge would be appreciated even more. I have also received envelopes for returning used cartridges.

I keep getting a cartridge error message. I have replace the ink cartridges but still have the error.


Are you using Dell Series 11 ink cartridges?

Open the printer with the power on and remove the Dell Series 11 black ink cartridge and make sure the tape is off the cartridge, then reseat the cartridge back in. Now do the same for the Dell Series 11 color cartridge. Now when you close the printer, it should print an alignment page. Any error messages?

Black = Black side(left side) Color = Color side(right side)

Photo = Black side(left side) Color = Color side(right side)

Black cartridge is new. registers low ink level and does not print at all.

I intalled new ink on my computer and it says to remove tape from cartridge when I all ready did and it will not work

The colour ink cartridge is not being identified. I have tried taking them out and putting them in again. I have powered it off and on but nothing is working. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Hi, the same occurs to me today, I went to Walmart in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico at night, I brough the Black cartridge for $18.00 I was really happy about it, I went to my home and install it, then say the same It can't print without mangenta and the others ****. WELL, but I still love lexmark so I realice a solution, it will be inminent to buy the others colors, but then do not use them, just keep them fulled; use only black, and then you will be able to change black only, since the colors will be always full. Purchased cartridges for the HP all-in-one 4215xi printer and cannot install the cartridges. 1st I purchased the 56/57 tri-pack and couldn't get them in the printer. Went back and purchased 27/28...


Your printer takes the HP 56/57 cartridges. When you buy new cartridges you need to remove the black clip, then remove the strip of tape that covers the print head, then the cartridge can be installed in the printer.

Hmmm....that sounds to be an issue with the ink cartridges...

You might be using ink cartridges purchased other than Dell or Staples...since these are the two who sell Dell Ink.

If thats not true, then take out both the cartridges in the printer.

Lets isolate the issue

1. Try only Black cartridge on Color slot(right). If you get Install both ink cartridges error, then its an issue with the Black ink cartridges and if you get message that install Black ink cartridge then its an issue with the prrinter.

2. Now install only color cartridge on Black cartridges slot(left), If you get color cartridge missing then its an issue with the Black cartridges which you are using and if you get install both ink cartridges then its an issue with the black slot on printer.

3. If issue found to be with Black ink cartridge then wipe the Nozzles(bottom) of the ink cartridge with lint free cotton cloth from back to front 5-6 times.

4. Also try replacing the ink cartridges purchased only from Dell or from Staples. Purchased from somewhere else or refilled might not work.

5. If issue found to be with printer, then i would suggest you to purchase new printer then.
