SOURCE: tank will not refill after you flush

okay depending on the type of toilet ball **** (i know its a funny word, but it's really what its called.) you have one the most standard type is the long wire with the big ball on the end. you need to adjust this ball **** so it goes lower test it out, flush your toilett and wait till the water drains then when its supposed to come back up push down on the ball **** and youll see the water will start to fill, so then adjust the little screw on the fill valve (the other side of the floater where its attached)

you may need to shut off your water supply and drain your tank depending on how skilled you are,

pretty simple work, if you have questions feel free to ask.

SOURCE: my toliet flushes but very slowly, it doesnt do

Probably still blocked down there. Keep flushing occasionally, and plunging, hopefully it will let loose and flow like it should.

SOURCE: water shooting out from the top valve when toliet

According to the Make and Model listed in the heading there is a couple of areas on the fill valve.

  1. The coupler nut may be loose. This holds the float valve, Tighten.
  2. The 'O' ring by the coupler nut may be worn/damaged. Replace.
  3. On the other side of the float valve Assembly is a cap and underneath the cap is a seal. check this for wear or damage.
I hope this helps in what to check for a Kohler K-3467 one piece toilet. Thanks for using FIXYA. Good luck and have a great week. Jeff

I have a Jacuzzi low flow toliet. Sometimes the water won't shut off after it is flushed

A frequent cause of this is a defective flapper. If the flapper does not seat properly after a flush, the refill water will flow continuously

The 1.28 GPF rating may not be sufficient to ensure thorough flushing action. The flapper could be affecting flush action as well.

After flushing the toliet makes a humming sound.

you have to turn the lever or knob in the reverse direction to plug the hole properly, the noise would go away.

Toliet won't get rid of solids

first shorten the chain from flush lever to the flapper valve by one or two links at a time until flushing properly

second the flapper valve might need a wipedown as well as its seal (top edge of tube where water goes down into bowl) the leaking is because the flapper valve is not seating properly.. you may need to replace the flapper itself.. easy to do, and a common part at hardware store.

Toilet Question

Yes, it will run up your bill! Sounds like the float is hanging up. Take tank lid off and flush, watch the float and if your tank fills quickly but does not stop, bend the float arm to angle the float down further, this should allow your water to stop coming in much quicker. The other possibility could be if the plug at the bottom does not seal correctly after flushing, if so, the water will leak until the plug sits down all the way.
