about the noise from the roper wash machine - took the machine apart and checked on the brake system and the noise - I found that a plate, triangle shape - that was held in place by 3 pins had worked loose and only 1 of the pins was still there being held from falling out by plastic caps at each pin. It appears to me that these kept everything centered on plastic tabs . If I,m correct or even if not I still need 2 more of these pins and cotter pins. They are smaller than most pins of this type that I usually find and haven't found any at hardware stores. Any ideas on these pins and plate being the problem? I haven't reassembled it yet and would not care to do this again if possible. Thanks for the info so far - how would I find a parts breakdown if possible.

The symptoms that you describe are caused by bearing failure. The water seal in the wash tub has failed, allowing water to leak into the bearing causing the bearings to rust. As the bearings start to rust, they will not roll properly and start to make a rumbling sound. The sound get louder the faster the bearing turns.
It a major job to repair since the washer has to be taken apart and the wash drum needs to be removed to replace the seal and bearings. Get a few estimates before deciding whether the washer is worth the cost to repair or replace. Sorry.

During spin cycle washer is making loud noise

If it is making a sound like a loud rumbling sound similar to a jet plane taking off, it probally due to the seal has failed causing water to leak into the bearings. The bearings begin to rust, and no longer round and the noise gets progressively louder. It can be rather expensive to fix. Get a few estimates before deciding whether it is worth fixing.

Sounds louder than normal, in spin cycle.

Could be the drum bearing failure. Turn the inner wash drum by hand. If it feels rough or makes a rumbling sound would mean that the bearing have failed.

Our Hotpoint WF321 1200 spin is just 3 years old and now makes a very loud noise when in use - both for the washing and spin cycles. is the drum loose / off balance? any help appareciated

Remove lower rear cover of washer, remove drive belt, and from the front spin drum by hand, if it feels rough, or is rumbling, or noisy, then the main drum bearings are failing.
This is a major repair!!!.

Loud grinding noise that should go way after one complete cycle. After 3 cycles it just gets louder and louder.

Remove the lower spray assembly and clean out the sump area.
Probably broken glass or a loose screw got in there.
