Check your interference eliminator code and Qt filter (if any) to see if they match. For basic operation turn both of these features off (zero). Best regards.

SOURCE: radios do not transmit voices.

Is the QT option turned on? Make sure it is off. Also make sure the IVOX option is turned off. You can get to these by cycleing through the options with the menu button.

UL means "Out of Lock". The synthesizer is having a problem. This can have many causes. Did someone try to modify it for expanded channels, that is mostly what causes this. If the radio is factory original it could be the VCO, the PLL chip or the reference oscillator that is causing the problem. The reference oscillator is the easiest to check; listen on a shortwave receiver if you can hear a carrier coming from the CB at 10.240 MHz (hold the receiver antenna real close to the CB)

By checking initially of your radio, insert your NEW FULLY CHARGE BATTERY,Switch On your radio, select the channel the same as your other working radio, and try it once more,
If you can not heard an alert sounds when you turn on the radio, and pressing any Button/key,probably you'll having a problem on the audio circuits/speaker,etc, if it is working before,

How do i program my eton fr 800 radio to come on automatically. Thank you.

  • To get your alert radio to come on when there is a weather alert first you needed to find the right NOAH frequency to turn on automatically to.
  1. Extend the antenna fully.
  2. Turn on the radio.
  3. .Press the "WB" button at the top of the radio.
  4. Turn up the volume and press the ^ or v button to cycle through all 7 of the weather channels.
  5. WB and CH will appear at the top of the display., with 1-7 next to CH.
  6. Select the strongest channel you can hear (if you can hear more than one channel. Usually only one channel is heard).
  7. The strongest one is the broadcast from your area.
  8. Now adjust the volume you want the radio to turn on in the event of an emergency.

  • Now once you have the weather frequency set for the radio to turn on to, we need to make it able come turn on in an emergency.
  1. Press the ALERT/WB button at the top of the radio.
  2. The alert light shines in the upper left corner of the radio.
  3. The audio will disappear but the radio is still on.
  4. It will monitor Noah until an emergency occurs and at that point a siren or a voice will alert you. Then you press the WB button to hear the alert.

Midland GXT 950 two way. TX problem

I am sure the OP isn't likely monitoring this, but just in case anyone else needs it... It's a power problem. Try charging the batteries, even though they look like they're fully charged -- or replace with 4@AA batteries.

This only seems to happen on the GMRS channels -- not the FRS ones. The radios come default to transmit at high power (the full 5 watts) on the GMRS channels, but only 0.5 watts on FRS. If you go to settings and change the power on that particular channel you're trying to medium or low, you'd likely find it works with the charge you had problems with.

Recharging or changing to 4@AA batts should get you back up to continuous TX on those high-powered channels.

How do i set my knobsso my radio works

Turn the volume up about 1/3, the squelch off or fully counterclockwise. You should now hear static or talking,if not something is wrong with the radio. As a last resort change to channel 19 and see if it is dead as well. None of this is valid unless you have a proper antenna connection. When you are receiving then adjust the volume to a comfortable level and turn the squelch up, clockwise, until it just mutes when no one is talking. The higher the squelch the stronger the signal has to be to be heard.
Good Luck,

Constant tone on an HT1000

You will get a constant tone on any channel that isn't programmed. it sounds like the previous user ha a freq programmed on channel 1. Channel 11 is strange, but possible. Usually guys program these radios in order.... they don't put 2 freqs in soo far apart from each other..... I would expect channel 1 AND 2 to have freq programmed in them.... but channel 1 an channel 11 is strange... but possible. Anytime you don't fill up all the channels on these radios (commercial radios in general) you will get a constant tone on the channels that don't have anything programmed in them. Program the radio and your good to go. If you don't program freqs into al the available channels, expect to hear that "constant tone" on any unprogrammed channels. The channels that you hear a tone on do not have a freq programmed into it. Its normal. Good luck
