The server is for the game Counter Strike Source, and i have used the program you see here to install a server:

    http://www.srcds.com/db/engine.php?subac...
The program is called 'srcds' and stands for 'Source Dedicated Server'.

You didn't say what game or what router. Can't get much help unless you give us something to work with.

Thanks for the info, here you go...

I'm guessing that since you are playing on a LAN you know the internal IP address of the machine hosting the game. You have to poke holes in the internet firewall for the game to be played by friends from outside.

First, make sure your file cstrike/cfg/server.cfg has the following:
    sv_lan 0

If "sv_lan 1" then you are set for LAN only.

Here are some online instructions for your router:
    http://www.thinkbroadband.com/hardware/r...

A little less than half way down is a section called:
Configuring Port Forwarding, look that over.

Lets say your game server LAN IP is 192.168.0.50, here is what you would enter under each heading: (NOTE, the NAME doesn't really matter), (NOTE2, Friends is for the Steam Friends app)

NAME Start Port End Port Server IP Address
    Friends 1200 1200 192.168.0.50
    CSS1 27015 27015 192.168.0.50
    CSS2 27020 27020 192.168.0.50

Make sure the "Active" box is checked in front of each and click The "Apply" button. That should do it. Start, or stop and re-start your game server. It should now contact Steam and register its self in the Game servers list. This can take a while, sometimes as much as 15-20 minutes. Steam has been having a few problems lately with the storms and flooding and all so there could be other problems as well.

I'm not sure how the Trend Security that comes with this will affect all this. If you are still having trouble then turn the Trend Home Network Security Services off if they are on.

If this doesn't do it then we'll have to dig a bit deeper

How do i port forward with a ZyXEL Prestige 660M-61 router?

The P660M-61 modem does not act as a router. It is strictly a "bridge" modem so it only passes the Internet connection straight through to your router. Any port forwarding you would need to do would be on the router.

No matter what i do, ports will not forward

you have to TURN ON both FIREWALL AND NAT, and then configure the nat forwarding + firewall rule and then it will work
it's a known bug @ zy boxes

Can I completely delete the memory from my Zyxel P-334WT router?

Hi there, in short yes. the reset button on the back will delete all the info on the router however a short press will not. What you will need to do is hold the button down for a good 20 second.... if this does not work then pull the power lead out and push it back in with the reset button pushed in, again for a good few second. Now to view all setting on the router before hand open your web browser up and in the top address bar type 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 the access code for your router varies on the make but can usually be found in the manual.when asked for a user-name and password just enter those (usually the user-name is ADMIN & the password is PASSWORD or also ADMIN. anyway you shold then be able to view the log and all settings.... hope this help ....Tony A

Unable to log into router to open ports

To log in to the router in order for you to do a port forwarding you can follow the steps from this link, but if the default username and password didn't work reset the router so it will be back to its default settings http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/ZyXEL/P-660HW-T1v2/Age_of_Empires_III.htm

First of all Reset by pressing a reset button or with the help of a pen. turn if off and restart ur computer Once you connect ur computer with router.. go to start-run- type ipconfig. if you are getting an ip address in range of 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.255, 1.Launch your web browser(IE). Enter ?192.168.1.1? as the web site address. 2.The default password (?1234?) in internet access setup choose "Encapsulation as ethernet and there should be nothing in username or password.incase you have been provided with username and password from ur ISP then enter those with ip address assignment setting as dynamic.
