Question about Maytag SDG3606A Gas Dryer
I would not replace that safety with a resetable limit. That is a melting type fuse that blows if the drum temp exceeds 350f.
What it does is kill power to the gas assembly. I don't know that I would want to relies on a mechanical device to shut down the dryer if it were overheating to a dangerous level.
That's just my opinion.

Thermal fuse. If the dryer overheats, this device stops the flow of electricity to the heat source and/or the entire dryer. It is located on the blower housing and cannot be reset. The most common cause for overheating is a vent tube clogged with lint, a birds nest or other debris.
