Well, if you can go into the Safe Mode, how far can you go? Can you reach the Windows Logon-Screen?
If you could boot into Safe Mode, I hope there's display upto where you could reach or no display at all?
It seems your system boots up somehow but fails at some stage. If possible, please give me more info so that I can assist you further.

If you try to install New Windows, then you have to select first boot options to CD/DVD Drive.

It's also possible that the SSD (Solid State Drive) is bad or having some problem. Remove it and clean the gold contacts and try reinstalling/booting.

Also, let me know the capacity of the solid drive, eg. 4gb or 8gb or 16gb...

Clean the Ram(s)'s cold contacts and make sure it/they work/s.

Please update.... awaiting.

I am not very sure when you say F8 and Safe Mode, I think you've made a little mistake. If you see something (boot options) when you press F8, then it's the Advanced Boot Options, not the Safe Mode, if you select the Safe Mode from the Advanced Boot Options, then you are into Safe Mode. Hope this clears.

It seems the installed windows is corrupted or there's problem with the SSD, if Safe Mode boot isn't possible, your only hope is to repair the windows or to install a new window.

Now don't press F8, instead press F2 and see what happens, this should open up the Bios Settings window. From there, you need to select the First Boot Device as CD/DVD Drive from the Boot Options, by default the First Boot Device should be Floppy Drive. This should be under Boot menu or (under Boot Sequence menu). Select the first boot device as Cd/Dvd drive, insert the Xp Cd and press F10 then, Y or yes, it'll automatically restart. Wait for the dell bios screen and press the spacebar when you see "to boot from cd-rom.... press any key......" or something like that... and follow the XP installation wizard.

Let me know if this isn't possible.

Ok... but if you could at least elaborate with more details, I could help you better. Here's another question, What do you see on the screen once you press the Power button to Turn On? If you could access the F8 (Advanced Boot Options) then you must see something before you reach the F8 Menu, like the bios screen or the dell logo or the Bios Screen shots. What I mean is the First display after the power button is pressed. Once you press the power button, keep tapping the F2 button, press once isn't enough. Let me know. If this fails, you'll need to deal with the hardware. I'll assist you further.

Most of all, please post back with details, as you know I am only assuming, I don't have the Laptop in hand.

Thanks, I hope I am clear now.

Remove the SSD (Solid Static Drive) from the motherboard and boot the system again. Let me know what do you see on the screen including any error message or info. This will bring up another result and will help us find out what the cause is. Next we'll deal with the Ram.

Thanks again, it's clear that the problem is with the SSD. If Ram fails, then it should beep even if it's installed.

Now we need another SSD to try and find out whether the one you have is dead or it's related to the motherboard or the Bios. Do you have another in hand? Let me know.

Why won't my compaq presario 1250 load windows?

1 - You may need to roll back system with System Restore. Under Safe Mode (press F8 during boot and choose safe mode).
Win 7 - Start > Search type System Restore
XP - Is Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Restore. Now choose a date prior to problem. You may have to try a few dates.

2 - Try disabling startup programs. Go to Start > Run (search in Win 7) and type MSConfig. Startup tab and uncheck anything that you don't want Windows to load automatically. It will make Windows boot faster and use less resources while running. This just disables them in startup. Programs will still load, but when only you initiate.

Message on monitor says " no analog signal".

If you are getting no post display on boot up (dell spash screen, and windows loading screen):

First step is to plug a different monitor into the computer. If this works you most likely have a bad monitor. If not then it is a hardware issue with the video card on the computer.

If you getting the post screen then you may have your resolution set to high, boot in safe mode (F8 on the key board right after the post screen) and chose safe mode. once windows comes up, right click the back ground and chose a lower resolution setting.

Hope this helps

I have a Dell Inspiron Mini, and everything was working fine until last Friday i tried turning it on and it as it loaded it went directly to a black screen with white letter and asked me how I wanted to...

Looks like your master boot record is corrupted or you have a bad hard drive. Without cd drive there is one option but it is not guarantied it will work. You can acctually make USB flash drive bootable but you need another computer with cd drive and an XP Operating System CD. You can google how to make usb flash drive bootable for XP and it will give you step by step instructions. Or you can borow an external cd drive or take it to pc repair store. Good luck.

My dell mini is stuck on welcome screen

Once you reboot, press the F8 key and boot into safe mode.

Once in safe mode, allow it to finish booting and then reboot the computer as you would normally.

This should now allow you to boot correctly into your XP.

Good luck

HP Pavillion dv9000 will not boot up in normal mode, only safe.

Have you tried an XP repair?
Then you can save your data .
XP repair
When you boot with the Win XP install CD-ROM, it loads a minimal operating system, similar to DOS, but compatible with Win XP. At the first screen you select install Win XP (not Recovery Console) and at the next screen it will find that you already have Win XP and offer to attempt a repair. This repair should not touch your Applications or data; it just reinstalls the Windows files. This is great because when it works you don't need to reinstall all your software.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Won' start up properly

Hello, you might be having an issue with a Peripheral Device in the computer, conflicting with it to boot up, please disconnect any USB devices, port replicators, or printers/scanner on the serial ports, if this solves the issue and you're able to access your computer, please reinstall the drivers for those devices, you can test each one of them to see wich one is the troublemaker.
Additionally if you don't have any peripherals connected, then please try to boot up in safe mode, to do so, please restart the computer, then when you see the Dell Logo, press the F8 key at start up, then please chose the safe mode option, and press enter. If you are able to enter safe mode, then please press the keys [Windows] + [R] and in the screen that pops up, type "msconfig", without quotes, go to the Startup tap and select, disable all. Afterwars restart the computer and let us know if it worked.

Hp dv1000 media card

Remove the media card while booting.

If there is no media in the card reader, press F8 after the laptop beeps during boot and this should give you a Safe Mode boot screen, choose Safe Mode and then your default OS listed. After you get your desktop, restart the laptop.

If when you press F8 you get a boot from what screen, choose your hard drive and then immediately press F8 again to get the Safe Mode boot screen.

You need to either remove the flash media or use Safe Mode and then restart to reset the Boot Ini information script.

Let me know if this works for you or not, as we may need to take another measure.
