Hi,

I have an older dishwasher also and recently my wife also complained about it not cleaning right... so me being the man I am tried in vain to clean the things... Bought new spray arms online and installed them in minutes...now the thing works like new... However I have also found that if the heating element goes bad then that also can mess things up bad... So I would buy new spray arms, and also check out the heating element to make sure it is working... Here is a tip that will help you with the online buying...

Why dose my keurig coffee brewer make coffee with film and oil ontop

Your water tank is likely dirty....try removing it, then remove the water filter, and rinse the tank with dish soap and white vinegar until it's squeaky clean inside. Fill the tank halfway with vinegar and run it through on the small cup size until the water is gone, then replace the water filter and run through a tank of fresh water before brewing again.

Tip

Gel Dishwasher Detergent

Allbrands does not recommend gel detergents
Gels typically contain bleach - primarily chlorine bleach - which causes rubber seals to break down and leak.
  1. Gels often leave a whitish or cloudy film on glassware.
  2. Gels tend to stick to the inside surface of the dishwasher, never really being rinsed off.
  3. Gels are intentionally thick so that they stick inside the soap cup and don't run immediately into the bottom of the dishwasher. Therefore, they leave a sticky residue inside the soap dispenser, actually cause it to clog and not open during the timed sequence.
  4. Gels are not effective in hard water - and almost always leave spots.

Tip

Do you use liquid soap?

If you use liquid you should use very little, about 1/3 of the soap cup. Liquid soap will build up inside the dishwasher so to help prevebt it from oversudsing you will want to run a empty load with a coffee cup full of white vinager sitting on the upper rack. This will help flush out what the soap leaves behind.

My keurig only brews 1/2 a cup of coffee. I've cleaned everything and there is no clogs, but still only 1/2 a cup. I have only had the coffee maker one month.

The next time you go to brew a cup, open the lid to the water well and locate the little clear rubber spout that sticks out of the side of the machine toward the top. When you brew the cup watch the spout to see if water is coming out of it into the water well. If it is you can just put your finger over the hole and the machine should brew the whole cup.

I usually only have to do this once every time the problem starts happening, but it is clearly not a permanent solution. I assume the problem is with a valve inside the machine or something, and to fix it permanently you should probably get the unit serviced or exchanged under manufacturers warranty.

Soap dispenser sticks shut

Detergent cup, itself The detergent cup itself can become clogged with old dried detergent that prevents it from opening. Sometimes just cleaning the cup takes care of the problem. If not, you probably need to replace the entire cup assembly
try cleaning it out with hot soapy water make sur its releasing freely ..Hope this helps if not let me know

Soap not used residue on dishes

if you still have soap in the cup the water is not getting to it, this could be caused by many things, the easy way to make sure that it is all used is to switch to the gel packs or tabs, they fall out of the cup to the bottom of the unit and work fine, as far as the soap residue goes run it empty on a hot wash with a coffee cup full of vinager sitting on the top rack, that will remove the residue

The Dishwasher is not cleaning the dishes

run a empty load, on the top rack place a coffee cup full of vinager. Run on hot or heavy duty cycle. Then try again with no more than 1/2 of the soap cup filled. If this works for you it was caused by to much soap

Hi,

Dishwasher - Soap Stuck in Cup If you have dishwasher detergent stuck in the soap cup after a full cycle, please check for the following conditions:

  • The water temperature should be at 120 degrees (140 degrees if your dishwasher has water heating capability). Check your water temperature Check your water temperature.

  • Make sure the soap cup is not blocked by anything.

  • Allow the dishwasher to fill and make sure it is getting a proper amount of water. The dishwasher should fill for about 90 seconds. On permatuf models, the water should measure 3/8" above the island near the center of the tub. On all other models, the water should measure about 1/2" below the heating element.

  • Check the lower spray arm for any blockage in spray holes or items that would restrict its turning.

  • Make sure the soap cup has opened at the end of the cycle.

  • Check the sump area inside the dishwasher for any restrictions.
