1) Try re-seating the RAM
if it's still the same problem, then the power supply maybe bad.
Try with a good PS.

Hello here is the homepage:

http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=M2V&p=1&s=24

Try to download the manual, by selecting your windows system.
Open the manual folder, and click on global for download.

You might need to upgrade the bios, to support windows 7, and certain harddrives.
You also need at least 2 gb ram, for the install.

Good luck

New ram not reconised

Try upgrading the Bios to the latest version and when you start it for the first time after it's upgraded make sure to "load bios defaults". Then restart and tweak the bios settings if you need to.

Motherboard won't boot past cmos

you are pretty much right it may be a corrupt bios, however before we come to a conclusion try isolating both Seagate Barracuda 7200 rpm 80gig ide hard drive and optical drive only and then see if it at least goes past the bios screen, if yes then the bios is ok and just needs to be resetted to defaults. dont expect it to load windows even if it goes past bios check as hard disk which helps to boot to windows would be removed. also in case if you are using 2 ram slots try connecting only 1 ram chip in 1 slot and then see if it goes past the bios test screen. do reply with results. Good luck.

Problem With ddr2 (Upgrade From ddr 512mb 400 to ddr2 1gb 800)

If it works fine with one stick of ram. Then it is the ram that is incompatible. You can try different settings but you may end up that the stick isn't compatible. Hope this helps let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you,

Installing 750GB SATA on Asus A8N-E Mobo

Hello there.

I would not update the BIOS unless you are experiencing any problems. Try installing the new hardware first and then if you do experience problems, think about upgrading the BIOS. The latest version is 1013 FYI.

The new hardware should be supported without a BIOS update, as long as you have Service Pack 2 in Windows XP or above then all your 750GB will be shown. As for the memory you should see it list the new size in the POST screen before Windows even loads, or inside Windows.

If you do have problems, then please post back and we can help.

Hope this helps.
