Well try cleaning out the game packs with qutips and rubbing alcohal then. To see if it makes a difference if not then it would be the console it's self that would be doing this.

SOURCE: how do i set up my sega genesis

There should be regular av cables and wall adapter for it. Mine came with the wrong cords and that might of happened to you. So if you don't know the av cables go in the back of the tv and plug's in the back of the sega. and the wall adapter goes in the wall. If you don't have the cords than get them off line. Type in:

http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=sega+genesis+cords&tag=googhydr-20&index=aps&hvadid=2858659671&ref=pd_sl_8zrz6m8bxu_b

cut and paste it online and you can get them.

SOURCE: Need step by step directions to hook up a 16 bit Sega Genesis

There should be two plugs on the back of the sega. One for the power cord, and one for the audio/video cord. The audio/video cord is a coax cord with a little box in line. Hook your cable or antenna cable into the jack on the box and hook the end of the cable from the sega into your tv. There will be a switch on the sega or on the box somewhere that designates channel three or four, this is what channel your tv will need to be on to use the sega.

My sega cartriges has horezontal lines all but spiderman maximum carnage.when I put the cartrige in the game starts but horrazontel lines come in and I cant play but the spiderman game works fine.

Sounds like the cartridge connector inside your Sega Genesis is dirty. You'll need to clean the connector AND clean all of your cartridges with rubbing alcohol. Cleaning this connector should be no big problem. Make sure your Sega Genesis is unplugged before you try any kind of cleaning or repair.

To clean your cartridges, simply use rubbing alcohol and Q-tips to scrub the connector pins clean. You will notice lots of dirt coming off onto the Q-tips. This will take many Q-tips.

This is important! Once you clean your cartridges, you still need to clean the connector inside your Genesis. Here's how:

First, get a can of compressed air. Blast air into that cartridge connector to remove any loose dust, dirt, or debris. Chances are, you'll still need to clean more.

Second, Use Q-tips to apply rubbing alcohol to one of your clean cartridges. Insert and remove this cartridge repeatedly.

Third, dry off your cartridge with clean q-tips.

Repeat steps two and three over-and-over until your cartridge slot is clean. Remember to give your Genesis time to dry before you plug it back in.

Bonus tip: If the above method doesn't get your connector totally clean, try wrapping a thin piece of cloth around an old credit card. Apply rubbing alcohol to the cloth, and scrub away at the cartridge connector.

Forgive me if this sounds condescending, but it bears repeating. Please make certain to unplug your Genesis before you attempt to clean or repair it. Safety first.

Why my sega gen mobile wont turn on?

The Sega Genesis 2 Console requires Game Cartridges. The console is only a processor and has no pre-loaded games.

Genesis loads up shows licensed by sega then freezes

The problem doesn't come from your console, but from your game cartridge. I had the same problem, and I've stumbled upon your question while Googling about it.

Recently, I wrote a tutorial about how to solve this problem which affects most old consoles that use game cartridges, such as the NES, the Nintendo 64 and the Genesis.

The tutorial is in French, so here's link to a translation by Google Translate: http://is.gd/52USF
Please ignore grammatical mistakes, as those are the result of the automatic translation. The tutorial is about NES cartridges, but it works with any gaming system that uses cartridges.

Freezing

I have the same problem with my genesis. Most likely it freezes if you make the cartridge move any, which is hard to avoid on these older consoles. Same goes for any cartridge based console i.e. NES,SNES,N64 sega
Theres a cheap way to keep the cartridge from moving though, heres what i do; As your inserting the game, wedge something like a quarter, or a small piece of cardboard with the game. It keeps the game from moving, and thus keeping it from freezing.
hope this works for you!!

Problem with the 1st generation sega genesis

If the screen changes (From snow to black or something) when the console is turned on it sound like the console is partially working. Try cleaning the Cardridge pins que tip and some sort of cleaning fluid.

Once this is done insert and eject the cartridge several times then repeat the cleaning process on the cartridge. Hope this helps.
