Question about HP LaserJet 3600n Printer

Beeping when printing

This is being used as a network printer. Every time it starts to print it beeps anyway to turn the beeping off. Lucky me it is right in front of my desk and beeps constantly as there are three of us using it all day. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Don't want to call you wrong, but these printers don't have speakers, thus they don't have a programmed beep. You may be hearing a squeek. Sometimes the drums on the toner cartrdiges may squeek.

My HP LaserJet 3600n printer is doing the same thing. Whatever it is sounds like a low pitched constant tone, not a high pitched squeek.

I've reset the toner cartridges and all of the cables. Even when I turn the printer off then on it "beeps".

    FIXED!!! I found a solution at: http://www.laserquipt.com/support/idx/26...

The printer will do this if plugged into a UPS in the "Battery Backup" area. I move the plug to the "Surge Protection Only" plug and it doesn't "beep" anymore!!!

It WAS an issue of power. I had it plugged into the UPS and when I plugged it into the wall directly...problem solved! Thank you!

Making noise

Hello tregster,

Is this the first time this happened or has this been the case ever since?

If this has been the case ever since, the beeping sound may just be an indication that the printer is preparing itself to print.

You can also try to check the ink casings if they're properly connected to your printer.

Hope that helps.

Yours truly,
Art Pena

Printer is not running while the power cord is ok.

Epson says....
Why is the printer beeping three times and the Paper Out light is on?

This indicates that the printer is out of paper. Make sure the paper release lever is in the correct position, then install the paper and try printing.

HP Laserjet 4M Plus

That sounds like a problem with your printer driver to me. If the wrong driver is used, then print codes that the other device uses will not be interpreted correctly by your Laserjet 4M Plus, which will cause it to beep. Check the driver on your computer to make sure that you are using one designed for any of the following:

HP Laserjet 4
HP Laserjet 4+
HP Laserjet 4M
HP Laserjet 4M Plus

(Either the symbol "+" or the word "Plus" may be used but most commonly the + is the non-Postscript version and the word is used with the Postscript version. Just as an FYI, the only two differences between the M and non-M versions are the ability to speak Appletalk and the addition of the Postscript module, which is in one of the RAM expansion slots.)

My HP Laserjet 2840 all in one beeps when printing

unfortunately, your printer uses all of the carts even for just black prints.

press the check mark key and scroll down to diagnostics.

select disable cartridge check

But then you won't know when you're out of a certain color.

Pause light blinking, machine beeping, no printing

Probably needs a good cleaning - with a vaccuum and some compressed air.

Dot matrix (impact) printers usually have a couple of optical sensors - disks with holes in them - to let the printer know where the head is, how fast it's moving, if it jams, etc.

If there is too much dust, dirt, or bits of paper interfering with the beam of light passing through the rotating disks, most printers will stop and indicate some sort of error, rather than force the motor - which may damage the plastic teeth on the gears.

Beeping noise

I've had the Dell 1720dn at my desk for years. Worked flawlessly. Moved it to a different workstation and it began beeping immediately while printing. Another site said to plug it directly into the wall, instead of a battery backup. I unplugged it from the battery backup outlet, and plugged into a surge protector only outlet on the same battery backup unit.... NO MORE BEEPING. Hope this helps someone else.

All Lights blinking with beeping...

Looking at the manual (link below) it seems the print head may be stuck: http://files.support.epson.com/pdf/fx890_/fx890_u1.pdf Have you had any paper jam recently & not completely cleared? Perhaps something has fallen into the printer? Has the printer been moved causing the print head to be in the wrong place?
