Question about Kenwood Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

I just bought this cd player for my car and I have hooked up a couple before, so I'm not an expert but I know the colors of the wires, which one is who and so on, but this piece of ****, it's making me purchase more and more fuses, this is the problem. My way of testing for illumination, is : first I hooked up the yellow to the live and then the red one to acc. then the ground to the ground which I also add a solid bolt so it can touch my deck too, then from my past experiences I learnwed that it doesnt' turn on if I don't connect the antenna(in) but it still doesn't turn on, I test each wire, and I suspect that the red wire supposed to be the black one instead, I noticed that there's no spark coming out from that wire at all, all the other ones theres's a small spark as soon as I connected and then about 1 o 2 seconds after comes the illumination, look guys.....I bought this deck for my Dad, because i have a very cool dad who is my friend and he is always there for me, so please I purchase the nicest one I need soome help, look, this is for a Ford Cougar 1999 and my last car it was a Lincoln Town Car Executive and I remember that I wouldn't turn on either unless the solid blue wire(the one with no white strip would be connected to the ground) But something is wrong, and I hope it's not burned out, the old man that sold it to me, said that his son took it off and that it works really good.. Thanks -Roberto

If you connected the blue/white wire to ground, you probably blew the deck. the blue/white is amp remote and is hot when the deck is powered up.

Need to know the color codes to hook up the wires to my DB 335 Clarion CD player, or need the schematics.

While this diagram may not be specific to your CD player, it appears to cover multiple models of Clarion mobile products:

Hope this helps!

Sound to radio but no sound to cds or dvds

I dont know what car you've got but,You need to hook up the blue amp remote wire for the antenna, when you switch to radio the antenna signal turns your car amplifier on and you get audio and when you switch to cd/dvd it switches it off because your car is wired that way, its a common issue with Mercedes etc.

CD player wont come on was doing weird things

You have your accessory wire (red wire) and remote ran together and the yellow (constant wire ran separately in the dash?

You need the red wire to so you can use accessory and to turn off your cd player when your vehicle turns off.

You need the yellow wire to keep all your settings stored. base/treble/time clock

Just a little clarification. Your amp turns on with the remote wire (blue) wire, if that is not hooked up you will get no power to the amp.

Here's the in-dash diagram to your vehicle at the bottom of this pdf.

You want to focus on N,O, and P

Do you happen to have an after market wiring harness? These can be bought from walmart for your vehicle. You just take the male end connect the colors together and plug end that goes to your cd player into the female end. Very easy to do.

You could also have one of these fuses out under your hood, that might cause you to lose power to everything.

SONY CDX-M8800 STEREO

Red (accessory wire)- goes to hot wire that can be turned off.
Yellow (constant wire) goes to your cigarette lighter
Blue/white is your amplifier remote turn-on wire.
Probably have green and green/white- brown and brown/white-white and white/black, and another color for speaker wires.
You can hook one pair up to your cd player and find out if it's hooked up to the right speaker channel.
Orange (remote antenna) wire.
