I am having the same problem with my 1500. Have tried 2 new batteries and it still will not consistantly pick up anything past 150 yards. Not even a house or building much less a flag pole. Anyone have ideas.

Same problem with my PinSeeker 1500. All of a sudden it either won't pick up the object or takes repeated attempts and then with sketchy results.

Me too!!! Is 2 1/2 years old and all of a sudden things farther than about 60 yards will not calculate.

Same problem in Norway. Gear 10 months old. thought it was the battery - but no. Tried two brand new batteries designed for heavy use. Problem still there.

Yes, I have the same problem and for $399.00, pretty pissed off about this. My Pinseeker 1500 does not show distance eventhough the pin is clearly visible with no background. This is frustrating. It was working so good and considered it my best buy of the year. After 3 months, it stops working. Changed the battery and still has the same problem.

This is the second time this has happened to me.  Bought a replacement the first time thinking I just destroyed it.  This time I have been much more gentle, but in 4 months the same issue of no/slow reads on pins and no scanning possible.  This is crazy!  I can't go 6 weeks without a rangefinder.....anyone try to fix this on their own?

According to Bushnell, the optical lense can come out of alignment. This can happen due to the unit getting bounced around during transport, shipping, in the golf cart etc... (If you gently drop it on the grass while trying hit your shot...)

The mis-alignment causes the longer distances to not work.

Bushnell suggest you send the unit in for re-alignment. The product comes with 2 year warranty and will cost only $10 of return in most cases to get it fixed. It takes about 3 to 6 weeks to complete the process.

Hope this helps.

How much bullet drop with a 130 gr bullet out of a 270 at 1500 yds

Are you sure of your distance - that is 4500 feet, or .85 miles. Here is the drop up to 500 feet:
270 Win Ballistics Chart Coefficient GunData org

Firing 130 grain bullets at between 3250fps and 3300fps, the .270 WSM is capable of delivering high shock for impressively fast killing out to ranges of around 300 yards along with clean but sometimes slightly delayed killing out to 400 yards. After approximately 500 yards, wound channels become proportionate to the expanded bullet.

At 300mm focal length at a distance of 200 yards away what F stop will give me edge to edge sharpness in my photos?

The edge-to-edge sharpness of your lens is a function of the optical design much more than f-stop. What I would be more concerned with is depth of field. The important consideration is what the closest and farthest point you want to be in focus. Here are some figures that might help. For a 300mm lens focused at 200 yards (600 feet), mathematical calculations yield the following (0.03 mm circle of confusion in all cases):

Near limit = 256' 3", far limit = infinity, total depth = infinity, hyperfocal distance = 447' 5"
Near limit = 303' 9", far limit = 24,350' 8", total depth = 24,046' 11", hyperfocal distance = 615' 2"
Near limit = 359' 2", far limit = 1,821' 3", total depth = 1,462' 1", hyperfocal distance = 894' 9"
Near limit = 403' 4", far limit = 1,172' 2", total depth = 767' 10", hyperfocal distance = 1,230' 4"
Near limit = 447' 4", far limit = 910' 12", total depth = 463' 8", hyperfocal distance = 1,757' 7"

Suitable distance to keep between cars

It is generally a good idea on urban and suburban roads, to give plenty of space in front. For example, on dry roads, you can leave approximately 1 metre (1 yard) for every one mile per hour, of your speed.

At 30 mph you will be 30 metres away from the guy in front. Enough to encompass the suggested overall stopping distance published in the Highway Code.

Diference between yd and cubic yd.

A yard is 1 dimensional so just a straight line.
A cubic yard is 3 dimensional so imagine a box with all sides being 1 yard long, the volume of this box is a cubic yard.

Will my scope remain zeroed at different distances?

You need to look at your bullet ballistics, Most guns should shoot dead on at say 15 - 17 yards out, to be on center at 100. Line of sight is straight the bullet must go over the line of sight to come back down and cross again so far out -- make sense? So no you will be a little high at 100 but may be close at 130 - 150. Ck on line for your ballistics with the bullet manufacture.
