Engine 5 hours old running like a clock ran out of fuel try to start next day no go has fuel and spark no kick plug and coilpack is good dead as a maggot . Can somone HELP!

Question, will it run on starting fluid? possible that gas is bad or carb has a blockage,especially if it ran out of gas-(all kinds of stuff in gas anymore)

well you posted with out country, In usa or canada.?
the 3.2L in USA has OBD2 technology, and 1998 in canada.
and as such. the scan tool answers this.
posting only for USA spec,cars, on this USA forum....

first off , engine only run right if engine is good.
compression good on all cylinders, at spec.
intake vacuum good, and stated. running.when running.
so if the engines ok and the EGR valve not stuck open
the EFI system can actually work
so why did you skip using a cheap scan tool? while it didnt start
if the crank or cam sensors fail the PCM tells you , hey buddy they are bad. even 1 misfire in 10, it does. cranking for 5 full seconds.
is scan tool dead, well that is a blown ECU fuse.... or blow fuse to
pin 16 of the OBD2 DLC dash connector (scan tool port)

here are some free tests. zero tools. (almost)
1: does it start with right foot planted, wide open throttle to clear the flooding? "op guide covers this"
2: are the spark tips soaked in raw fuel? yup flooding. or lost spark
3: dry plugs, try test fuel now, Hand sprayed.? if it sounds perfect now, then its not bad spark or bad engine all in 5 min work and spark plug wrench,.
4: all new spark parts, or just plugs? we cant guess this.....
5:does it start with 5-10% throttle added. (to hide a stuck closed IAC valve, and stop the air starvation" such and easy test huh>?
6: ok test fuel always works and engine never floods.
so what is next, well, that is FUELING.
there are over 10 tests with $20guage to find this. but ill do just the 1st to wet your whistle.
A:; fuel pressure. is it at spec.? cranking or running.?

96- 3.2L V6 ,
ever consider a fuel filter? that be like first thing every 60k to consider by the book.
41-46 PSI fuel pressure is the fuel spec.
if too high it floods,
if too low it staves for fuel.
the gauge is $20 to use.

is this a MPI engine
is it with or with out distributor. if yes, has, is cap and rotor and wires fresh.?
our 3.2 has coil packs, or COPS
if the boots are carbon tracked, it will never run right. buy new boots.

other points, there are over 50 causes....
if only one spark plug floods, then the spark is dead on that coil
(COP coil) or the injector leaks or compression is flat here.
our 3.2 has 6 COP coils.
and driver module called and ignitor module that drives the 6 cops
the ECU drives the ignitor.
so not scanning the pCM looking for P03xx errors. you miss the boat.

check and make sure its getting fuel. when trying to start, spray some engine starting fluid in spark plug hole. just a little bit. replace the plug then try to start it. if it starts then quits then its a fuel problem. fuel not reaching engine. good-day !

My 125l starts and runs for 5 minutes, then stops dead. trying to pull the started, it seems jammed. I took off the recoil starter and turned the engine over with a wench (torx I believe) which was...

If the engine is a concern, run a compression check. All you will need for this test is a compression tester (small engine) and to remove the spark plug. It should be at least 90psi or above as I recall. A lot of times, people have "scored" their engines and they don't know it.. I don't suspect that is your problem. Compression test is a real good indicator of your internal engine's condition.

Recently on two occasions the car started fine and I was driving down a garage ramp when the car died. Pulled into a open space, car turned over strong, but wouldn't kick in. Next day car turned over fine...

id start with fuel, make sure it's gettin fuel. then check your fire, spark plugs dist, ect. 75% of the time that's where you will find the problem with those troubles

Engine cranks but wont start. may start but immediately dies out

hi i dont mean to sound harsh but never assume anything with cars, if the engine cranks but wont start check for a spark at the plugs if no spark then you know that the problem is ignition or electrical in nature. if you have a good spark then you need to find out if you have fuel to the engine a good trick which i use is to spray some carb or injection cleaner into the manifold via a vacuum pipe dont spray it down the intake you might set yourself on fire ! if the engine kicks and attempts to run you know its a fuel fault . come back when youve established this.

Have you checked that you have power to the coil on cranking?You may also want to check wether you have a good strong spark at the spark plug.It could be an ignition module breaking down.If you have no power to the coil you may need to change the ignition relay.Its close to the battery.
