Ok, sounds like you know what the problem is. So what's the question? The only possibility I can think of that wouldn't require repairs to the set would be if there was an option for selection of digital optical audio and that were selected instead of the HDMI audio input. Without the model number of the set, I cannot determine that for a fact.
Before selecting the ring to answer, under stand what it is..

Since you have a new phone and a new battery and is still doesn't work ... the first step should be to take it back to where you got it ... have then evaluate it for possible replacement.
If I got your english right, only the fax do not work but the other features do work, correct?? If this is your problem, then you need to check the telephone connection cord or the telephone outlet jack by connecting a phone to the jackl and seeing if the telephone works, and;or changing the cord that connects fax to tele jack. Goodluck, macgivor
NOTE: if the telephone conections prove to be ok, then you have a setup or programming problem with the all-in-one unit and you need to call technicalhelp of hewlet packard and tell them you already varified the tele cord and jack to be ok.
You gots ta program the remote to operate the tele. Theres a separate button that says tele. Press that button and then see if you can control the tele. If not, then read your manual to see how to program the tele button for your brand. Cheers.

Is there any phone connected with your DSL line? if so is it working? if its not working, contact customer support and tell them its not working
If the phone is working, you have to check the connections between the phone line to the modem. As the DSL light is blinking red, its the problem with line and not the modem.
