Question about LaCie Design by F. A. Porsche 160 GB Hard Drive
If this drive is still under warranty, contact customer service for LaCie. If it is not, you could carefully take the outside casing off (if you've never dismantled an electronic device before, find a friend who has, and then observe that person). Make sure there is no power to the drive before removing ANYTHING!
You may see something quite obvious that has come loose when you dropped the drive. If not, then you'll need to take it to a local computer shop.

OK, dropping a HDD is never good. The fact that the orange light flickers, mean that the circuit board might still have normal function.
The most obvious reason for the computer not to pick up the HDD is probably due to the fact that the spindle got damaged. Does the drive make a clicking sound by any chance?
Let me know if you can hear the drive making a clicking sound, or the spindle even spinning up like normal.
Please fell free to let me know if you need any further assistance.
