Hi.

Remove battery for 30 minutes. If i were you I'd first start by using a multimeter and see the condensor surrounding the Processor area. when they are down, that is what happens to your pc.

If condensors make that beeping sound........ it means u have to replace them. then find someone who knows soldering..

good luck

Re-wiring a DELL dhm

The wires will only connect in the right places. If you haven't been inside before the problem started, then there is nothing to worry about in that respect, cables don't just unplug themselves. There is a very good chance that the power supply itself has failed. They aren't expensive and are easy to fit. Just take a photo of the inside before you remove the old one, it will make it easier to refit the new one.

I have a Dell model number says dhm made on 11 13 04 it wwont boot up think it needs a hard drive but before i buy one how do i find out if its a single dual or quad core?

Power on the computer and enter the setup menu by tapping the <F2>
key. It will tell you what type of processor you have. You can then Google search the processor type to see if it's duo or quad.

Power buten not working on dell dhm

Hello this should be the homepage:

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/Product/dimension-4700

Here is how to disasemble the pc:

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim4700/sm/parts.htm

If i am wrong, search for the model here:

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/ProductSelector/Select?rquery=fkey-e-Drivers_PS

By selecting desktop, and model number.

A solid amber light is usually a indication of a failed power supply. The fact that you maybe get the light means the button is working and the problem is else where.
Start by removing all the ram and all plug in cards. Then disconnect all the power inputs to all the drives.
If you still get the solid light then its either the mother board or the supply.
But you can order a new power switch, from a dell dealer.
This is rarely happening, so i suspect the power supply, is malfunctioning.
All ATX power supplys fit`s in the case, so it does not have to be a dell.

Best of luck

Hi..i have a computer name DELL model: DHM, the serial no: 9QXPX21. my problem is, if I press power button, the motherboard detect lights but doesn't work, i try to change power supply, memory and I...

Make sure your power supply is set for the correct region you are in, if that does not work, check the obvious stuff like your monitor having power and being on and all that. If that doesn't fix it your Motherboard is likely fried and you will have to replace it

I smelled smoke and turned computer off.

For sure, especially if you smelled smoke. Although it could b one of the cards or even power supply. You'll have to open it up to see for sure.

Computer will not turn on at all. Dell Dimension 5100 desktop

I would unplug the power supply from the motherboard, wait a little while and then plug it back in.
Try to power everything back up and it should come up.

I am assuming you are getting a light on the motherboard that indicates power is being supplied?

Sata cable connection

There are no internal connectors for SATA devices in a Dell Dimension 2400, only IDE. If you have SATA drives that you really want to use, I suggest purchasing an external drive case/dock that converts SATA to usb 2.0. On the other hand, if you are referring to the SATA power connector from a new power supply, you don't need to connect this to anything. If I misunderstood your question, please explain it a little more to me.
