Question about Microwave Ovens
Gas should not burn with soot, if it does it is dangerous as poisonus fumes will be produced as the air/fuel mix is wrong.
Call a qualified gas engineer to check out the installation and make it safe.

What type of gas are you using? If it is a natural gas stove and you are using butane, it will do that.
