Faded prints even after replacing the toner cartridge could most likely be due to dust at the laser reflecting mirrors inside the printers, which requires cleaning by a professional.

If you are comfortable with working inside such machines, you may do it your self. Download repair and service manual for your printer and study it before you attemp cleaning/ servicing.

Hope this helps!!

Faded print on right side of page. When I copy/print in black, why is the black print faded on the right side of the paper?

Your toner cartridge may be the culprit.
Take the cartridge out and shake sideways and up/down. Reinstall it and try again.
If it's still printing faded side, replace the cartridge.

The far right hand side of pages printed on my HP Color LaserJet 3800n are faded .. as though the toner is not distributed evenly .. I've tried shaking the black cartridge but this has no effect .. can...

From the control panel, go to diagnostics menu and then select PQ pages. This will print color diagnostics pages so that you can see if it is one color or all colors that have a problem. If one color then it is either the cartridge or the scanner. If it is all colors then it might be the high voltage board, or possibly one bad cartridge causing a voltage drop. If you recently changed a cartridge put the old one back in and try a test print.

A white streak appears on the right hand side of the print out

Hi,
If faded prints happen even after replacing the toner cartridge or if your current cartridge has enough toner, it is most likely be due to dust at the laser reflecting mirrors inside the printer.

I have worked/ serviced similar Laserjet Printer with same issue.
Actually, faded prints are due the the dust/ toner dust accumulated on the optics (mirrors and lenses) inside the printer, which refect the laser beams to form prints. Hence the image is not produced properly. This needs professional hands for servicing and cleaning of the optics inside the printer.
Rest assure that the printer requires ONLY CLEANING OF THE MIRRORS, which are inside the printer. So, it is advised that you get the printer serviced by any printer repair/ service professional. (Please note that the mirrors, lenses and scanner assembly inside such printers is extremely complex and can get damaged very easily especially the mirrors).

Hope it would help. If you need any clarification, let me know
Good Luck!

The black is ghosting and text is fading out completly on right hand side

Hi

For ghost printing, i suggest you clean the fuser roller inside the cartridge compartment by a cotton swab with water and remove all the toner dirt on the roller. For faded print outs, the problem is the toner is near to end, Just replace new toner cartridge. Try also to shake the cartridge to distribute evenly the toner power.

Info Print 1352 one half faded other half normal print.

You require a replacement transfer roller, if you remove the toner cartridge and look in the printer, you will see a roller which sits underneath the toner cartridge, this is what you need to replace

Infoprint 1532 Faded txt on left half of page and normal on right

The problem is the transfer roller. If you remove the toner cartridge and look at the roller that is under it. It should be seated down. The gears should be on the left side. Try to remove it and replace it the correct way.

Print fading down right hand side

I was able to fix it by taking off the top of the printer. This involved taking off 4 screws on the top of the printer. I then had to disconnect the wires going to the control panel by unhooking them from the right side. I then located a thin rectangular box which I'm assuming houses the laser. I removed this with 4 more screws and turned it over. There was a little metal flap that I moved back and below was the mirror the lasers shoot on before going onto the toner.

In the same spot where I was having fading, I noticed a lot of toner on the mirror, so I cleaned it of, put it back together, and the fading was gone.

This was after I tried a new toner and maintenance kit.

Hope this helps

Faded print on left hand side of paper

This type of printing defect is normally caused by 1 of a few problems - the easier one first:

1. Toner cartridges sometimes do not have the toner evenly distributed - close the toner cartridge and inspect the hopper right below it for even distribution of toner.

The harder ones:

2. This type of defect can also be caused by dirty charging section - for the drum to pick up the toner it must be charged electrically prior to exposure - if the charge grid is not clean then it will not give the drum an even charge - not sure were this is in this printer yet - looks like it comes as part of the drum kit so this should not be causing this issue.

3. The last and most difficult to check is paper alignment with the drum - is the paper contacting the drum evenly - look for possible problems in the paper path with the drum unit removed - look for something uneven around the area were the paper contacts the drum
