Question about Garmin zumo 550 GPS Receiver
I flattened the battery - and recharged it - no good (cannot find any satellite signal when outside).
I removed and refitted the battery - twice - for 1/4 hour and 1/2 hour respectively - still no good.
Short of going back to my old Streetpilot III (which NEVER fails to work despite bumping about on the floor of my car for well over a thousand miles) I'd be grateful if you could suggest what I should try next. Best Wishes, PN.
Have you checked the firmware updates through webupdater (on the garmin site)
Have you ever erased all user settings? To do this press and hold the right bottom of the touch screen while the zumo is powwered of, then press power on until the screen pops up, select yes to erase all user settings, it will now startup clean and request you to set the GPS up. Press and hold the clock will pop up the system menu. Any SD cards installed should be removed, just to make sure that's not the case. To see if your antenna is bust, connect an external antenna. I still have my streetpilot 3, rugged as hell, just a bit crappy memory wise, but back in those days it was THE SOLUTION!

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
