I have been unable to determine if there were any particular issues on this model. Based on this fact, I can only suggest that the defrost, (terminating), thermostat is cutting off the heater prematurely. This can be caused by a dislocation of the thermostat, or a weakening in the sensing portion of the thermostat. This will cause the freezer to start cooling before all the water can escape to the defrost pan. Replacing this part may help resolve your complaint, but you may want to inspect the evaporator coil to see if it has indeed been misaligned first.
Below is a link that can help in disassembly and replacement issues.

Hi, I am Dennis. The unit leaks water from the vent in the bottom center of the freezer side on to the floor of the freezer and sometimes out of the freezer door to the kitchen floor. Not muck of a leak....

Abesolutely a bad defrost heater. it is too weak to defrost the ice completely, therefore it falls off the coils and freezes on the drain tray. If you dont want to replace the heater you can also just install a drain tube heater that wires into the evaperator fan, it will run constantly as the fan does to keep water from freezing in the tube or tray. All parts can be purchased at http://www.reliableparts.com/ using your model number.

Fisher and Paykel Fridge/Freezer - Drain Freezing Up

The evaporator coils frost up in normal use and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan.

Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help. Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the back of the freezer. If this repeatedly happens with yours, you may can prevent it by taking a bare copper wire and wrap it around a fin near the heater and put the other end a few inches down the drain. The heat convection may prevent it from freezing.

My daughter's Hotpoint has the same problem (not sure of the exact model). Discovered that the water line inside the freezer door is freezing up. However, I don't know why and the dealer says they have no clue either. This may be your problem.

Not fixed but I do not want to spend MORE money to find out what's wrong with this AMANA piece of ****. Apparently, from research on the net, the compressor or motor is not strong enough in this unit to actually do the job...but if anyone has any suggestions, I'm happy to hear them...

Water pooling and freezing inside bottom freezer.

make sure you have cleared the drain all the way to the drip pan, and the fridge should be tilted slightly to the rear for good drainage........make sure there is a clear path for the water to make it to the drain hole
