Yes, without a doubt but you will need to follow the instructions and have the latest update.
I would remove your hard drive, install another one on a temporary basis. Load Norton on the new drive and clean the other hard drive with a USB link. That way the virus cannot stay in the laptop as Norton will stop it entering whilst Norton cleans the drive.
