Yes it is still safe but you must have the updated Anti virus to make your computer secure.

Yeah it is safe as long as you keep yourself safe by having proper antivirus, antispyware and security software on your laptop. But if you compare it with Vista or Win 7 i ll have to say that they are more safer than XP .

Dell optiplex gx60. Windows XP wont load and I need a password to get into safe mode. Any way to reset user password without access to windows?

Reset windows password have been an easy thing nowadays.

Here are the two ways to crack windows xp password.

1.You can go into safe mode (F8 at logo when booting up) and enter as administrator and then go to accounts and change Windows password and that's with XP. I haven't forgotten password for a pc before but can enter any XP pc in safe if the owner hasn't gone into safe mode and designated a password for "administrator" and usually only have a password for the user account but never have tried on Vista or Win7.

2.If that does not work, you can use software to reset the Windows password,my favorite is Windows Password Recovery Tool 3.0

How to recover my windows xp passwords

For Xp, usually we use Safe Mode to reset windows password.

First, restart your computer, keep pressing F8 before Windows XP loads, then select safe mode and enter, you will see the default administrator account appears in the login screen, click that account and enter your system, go to control panel to change your other account password. When it finishes, restart the computer, log in the related account with the newly created password.

If the method above can't help you ,try to use the Windows PassWord Reset ,it is very easy and safe.

How to get to safe modem?

Tip: If you are running Safe Mode because you cannot get into Windows, you may want to first try loading the last known good configuration.

To get into the Windows 2000 and XP Safe mode, as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu" as shown below. Use yourarrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.

Note: With some computers, if you press and hold a key as the computer is booting you will get a stuck key message. If this occurs, instead of pressing and holding the "F8 key", tap the "F8 key" continuously until you get the startup menu.

Trouble Getting into Windows 2000 or Windows XP Safe mode- If after several attempts you are unable to get into Windows 2000 or Windows XP Safe Mode as the computer is booting into Windows, turn off your computer. When the computer is turned on the next time Windows should notice that the computer did not successfully boot and give you the Safe Mode screen

Won't boot past Windows XP main screen. Windows XP may have a corrupt file. How do I correct without full recovery?

Try starting in Safe Mode and check if you can start it? In case it starts in Safe Mode, you may do the system restore to the date it was working fine.

You can also force the system into safe mode. You click on startup and type in msconfig. Click the general tab and select diags and the system will reboot to safe mode. Change it back to normal to get your system out of safe mode.
