For that you need to RESET printer settings to factory defaults. Then that error will be fixed. Press the button repeatedly to display [DEVICE SETTINGS]. Press the left or right arrow to select [RESTORE DEFAULT], then press the button. Press the left or right arrow to select one of the below options and then press . TELEPHONE NO DATA SETTING DATA ALL DATA Press the left or right arrow to select [YES] at the confirmation screen, then press . Then all settings defaults then restart printer then check. Also make sure ink cartridges are fine and there is not any paper jam inside the printer. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

See Steps below:
*Setting the time*

  • Press and Hold down the Mode Button til the Hours flash
  • Then push Alarm Button to set the Hours
  • Press and Hold down the Date Button till the Minutes flash, then push Alarm Button to set the minutes
  • After setting the minutes on your watch, Press Date till you get the month flashing push Alarm to set the month
  • Press the Date again till the Date flashes, then push Alarm to set date
  • Press the Date again till the Date on your watch flashes, then push Alarm to set the date

My cannon mx300 is giving me an alarm code 5100

5100 means either the carriage is not moving freely back and forth or there is grease or ink on the encoder strip. You can clean that clear plastic strip behind the carriage with a Q-tip, but also check on the right and left side for paper scraps stopping the carriage.

Cannon mx 310 error 5100 Says chck printr with alarm light flashi

heres the problem from service manual: error 5100, a error occured in your encoder signal, it list 4 things in the serice manual.
carriage unit. carriage motor, logic board, timing **** film.
ok my first thing i would look at is the film that runs directly behind the print head i would think it is dirty. just turn on printer and get print head to the middle and turn off machine, gentle move print head to one side and gentle clean the film strip with a cloth with a little metho on it, move print head to other side and clean other part of ****.
i reckon that will fix your problem its a common problem they tend to get a bit of grease on the timming ****.

Setting tha alarm

Press MODE (lower left) button until "ALARM" appears in the display. Then press SET (lower right) button. T1 should flash to indicate you are setting an alarm for Time 1. Press MODE to cycle through the alarm settings. Press ALARM (upper right) button to advance the hours, tens and minutes to the desired time. When the far right of the display is alternately flashing "T1" and then "AL" you can change the chime and alarm tones by pressing the ALARM (upper right) button. The alarm is on if the middle symbol (lines) on the left of the display is shown. The hourly chime is on if the lower symbol (bell) on the left of the display is shown. When you are done, hit MODE (lower left) again to return to normal time display.
