Question about Toshiba Satellite P105-S9722 Notebook
My Toshiba Satellite screen became garbled yesterday and froze. I have tried restarting it several times, however, the screen came on (with colored lines everywhere) and said "...windows did not start succesfully....recent hardware or software change might have caused this...". I have not added any new hardware or software! When I try to select any of the options like safe mode, start normally, etc. it just shuts down. Now the laptop screen will not even work, I have to use an external monitor to say the same screen as before. I have had so many problems with this laptop (it has been in for repairs 3 times - video card keeps going bad amoungst other things). I just need to get a couple of files off the hard drive before I get someone to service it. Is there any way to do this? (As you can tell I am not well versed with working on computers). Please help!
If you can't get it to start up, then you will not be able to retrieve your files. Any decent tech should have the tools to retrieve the files you need. Tell the tech about the files before hand and he should be able to save them WITHOUT viewing them. Also, this being a hardware issue, the problem should be able to be fixed without having to reload your hard drive, therefore any info on your drive will remain intact.

PLS REMOVE THE POWER CORD AND THE BATTERY FROM YOUR LAPTOP AND WAIT FOR 5 MINS THEN RE-INSERT THEM AND ON IT . SHOULD WORK
