    yes

  • siav Nov 11, 2010

Strange. Once before this happened but went away by playing around with the buttons on the remote. I thought it might have entered in sleeping mode?

  • siav Nov 11, 2010

I did that but the problem is still there it switches off after few seconds.

  • siav Nov 11, 2010

Yes. This problem has occurred in the past and has gone away by playing with some buttons on the remote. Unfortunately I can't remember what I did. I like to have some other expert to take on this issue.

  • siav Nov 15, 2010

I think you are right. But I opened the back however could not see any faulty capacitors or resistors. I put it back together it worked for few hrs. I turned it off but when I wanted to turn it on again, it was again green for few seconds and then went into blinking red and then continuous red. So the problem hasn't been resolved.

Not its not the press of a button that causes this. WHat you are experiencing is known as protection fault, a most common fault in the power supply circuit of a television. Common reasons include failed resistors, voltage regulator ICs that cause excess voltage to flow into sensitive circuits there by triggering the tv's protection circuitry , which turns off the set to prevent further damage. Another common reason is faulty capacitors causing an an overload in particular circuit causing the relays to shut off the power. Both of these problems require considerable amount of experience in handling electronics to fix and soldering skills. The question now is whether you want to do it yourself or let a qualified tv tech handle it?

So what do you want to do? Would you like me to find you a replacement power supply, so that we can avoid component level diagnostics and soldering?

If the problem is due to overload unplug TV for 5 mins, then plug it back in and see what happens

    ladywinn Nov 11, 2010

Then you have problem with the power supply board and it is not a minor reset, unless you can solder or read a voltohm meter, you are going to be better off to take it to a Local Repair Shop.

LCD TV does not turn on from first time

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device, in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

Display powers of with power up of AVC

how many blinks does the red light give in a row? This would be an error code?

The problem for 7 blinks would be an Interface board. Apparently there is a glitch in the interface board that sends signals to the television. Basically the glitch shorts out the board and the t.v wont turn on and you will see the power light blink 7 times pause then 7 more. You can replace the board with a new one and update the software on the new interface board.

If is isn't 7, let me know and I will help you out with this

thanks

After a few seconds the lamp light began to blink red, its a panasonic pt-lb10svu, show no pic at all has a new lamp

Hi, Replacing the lamp in a Sharp LCD projector requires the lamp indicator to be reset. When the lamp needs to be replaced, the indicator becomes red. Resetting the counter for the lamp hours to zero will also reset the indicator to green.
  • Attach the power cord to the projector and plug it into an electrical outlet.
  • Step 2Locate the buttons on the top of the projector and simultaneously hold down the "Enter", "Menu" and "down arrow" buttons, then press the "Standby/On" button.
  • Step 3Continue holding all four buttons depressed until the lamp indicator light begins flashing green. The counter is now reset. Zero hours will now be displayed on the screen.

I need the code for sharp tv please

    Configuring codes:
    1. Turn on the component that you want to set up. In the code listing find the 4-digit code numbers for your component brand.
    2. Hold the component key down until the green indicator light comes on. The green light should come on after approximately 3 seconds.
    3. Release the component key.
    4. If you are programming the DVD or CD device press the "action" key. The red indicator light will come on.
    5. Within thirty seconds, enter in a 4-digit code number. The component key lights will blink with an upward motion when a code has been successfully entered. In this case proceed to step #5. If the code has not been successfully entered, the componment lights will not blink. In this case return to strep #1 and start over.
    6. Test code by pressing "Power" key. If the component turns off, you've got the right code. Follow the same instructions to set up your other components. If the component doesn't turn off, return to step 2 and use the next 4-digit code listed. Note: If none of the codes turn your component off, try the Auto Code Scan function.

    Auto Code Scan:
The Auto Code Scan feature allows you to set up your components without having to enter in code numbers. The Jensen will do the work for you! (It may take a few minutes to find your code using this method.)
    1. Turn on the component that you want to set up.
    2. Hold the component key down until the light comes on. The green light should come on after approximately 3 seconds.
    3. Release the component key.
    4. If you are programming the DVD or CD device press the "action" key. The red indicator light will come on.
    5. Press "0" - "9" The green light will blink as codes are sent.
    6. As soon as the remote turns your component off, press the "action" key. (You have 1 second in which to press the "action" key to save the code.) The component key lights will blink with an upward motion when a code has been successfully entered. The component is now programmed. To find that code, proceed to Code Readback.
    7. If none of the codes turn your component off, return to step 2 and start over.

    Code Readback:
    1. Hold the component key down until the green indicator light comes on. The green light should come on after approximately 3 seconds.
    2. Release the component key.
    3. If you are programming the DVD or CD device press the "action" key. The red indicator light will come on.
    4. Press the "enter" key.
    5. Count the number of times the green light blinks. There will be four numbers, separated by a two second pause. The red light will tum off after the remote is finished reading numbers back. Make sure you write the code number below for future use!

    Multi-Component Power On/Off:
The Jensen remote has the ability to turn On/Off multiple components at once. When you perform the following steps, you can turn On/Off the TV, VCR, Satellite, Cable Box and Audio Receiver.
    1. Press the "action" key.
    2. Press the "power" key. Note: This feature does not work for DVD and CD.

    Volume Priority Punch-Through:
When you press the volume keys on the remote they will control the volume on your TV. If you have a home theater system and want the volume keys to control your receiver only, you may set your volume priority to the receiver.
    1. Hold the "RCVR" key down until the green indicator light comes on. The green light should come on after about 3 seconds.
    2. Press "RCVR" key.
    3. Press "Vol+" key. To disable the volume priority you have to set and return to the default.
To change back to TV priority:
    1. Hold the "RCVR" key down until the green indicator light comes on. The green light should come on after about 3 seconds.
    2. Press "RCVR" key.
    3. Press "Vol-" key. The volume priority will now default to the TV volume.
    hope this helps

Display powers of with power up of AVC

This is the problem with my LC-37HV4U. I plug in the AVC and the tv/monitor and I get both red power lights (not blinking) but no green lights, sound, or picture. I mean the tv screen stays black! It seems like their is no communication between the AVC and the monitor. I thought at least the screen would light up when the power light came on and being it has it's own power source. This tv is driving me nuts!! Can anyone please help?? Thank you.

    Focus problems

There are settings in the menu to turn on the AIAF did you buy it used? maybe the settings need to be reset. If you have the manual there is a sequence you have to do to reset the camera to default settings. One thing to note this may or maynot be yoru problem. If the lighting is low and you have the correct settings the little box in the center will turn green. If they are not the box will turn yellow and beep a few times then give you a red number to indicate how much under exposed the image will be. When you need more light you should turn the flash on this is indicated by a lightning bolt on the display. If it is on then the image display will be corrected and then get brighter showing you an estimate of what it thinks the image will look like. Hope this helps
