Question about Cuisinart CBK-200 Bread Maker

1 Answer

The liquid leaks from the shaft of the bread pan. Upon further investigation, the shaft drops down slightly from it's original position as I can push it back up but it won't stay up. What can I do to fix this?

Hi...The paddle shaft fits tightly on a sealed bearing. This allows the shaft to spin freely. Over time the sealed bearing wears out, the shaft gets loose and liquid will leak through. Unfortunately there is no fix for this and a new bread pan is needed. sorry...Hank

Leaking pan

Unless your machine is leaking badly just reverse the ingredients so that the liquid is on top and push the start button right after adding the liquid. That way dough is formed right away and you won't have any liquid to leak out. You can do this until you find a new pan. They are available on ebay.

If this helps you please consider a "thank you" by purchasing a copy of my novel of mystery, suspense and horror set in Taos, New Mexico. "When the Taos hum unexpectedly stops and citizens begin to disappear from the nearby Carson National Forest, no one knows why...with the possible exception of a the 10 year old son of the investigating Sheriff! Again just type the author's full name in the Amazon search bar, which is: Daryl Wayland Nash then, lock your door and turn on all the lights! P.S. it would make a great gift for the holiday!

My bread machine leaks the liquid out through the drive shaft. How can I fix this?

If the leak is not too bad and you are NOT using the delay timer. Put all the ingredients in flour etc. add the liquid last and just before pushing the start button pour the yeast in. You can do this until you locate a "pan assembly" for your machine or email me at breadmachineshelp.com for good used machines. I have a pan assembly for the K6725 if you are interested in it let me know.

Hi, The leaking is from the sealed bearing that the paddle shaft rotates on. It wears out over time. It can not be repaired and you will need a new bread pan. Sorry Hank

My bread pan is leaking liquid, can this problem be fixed? It is leaking around one of the four seals.

Hi, If the pan is leaking from the seal then it can not be repaired. The sealed bearing has failed and the pan needs replacement. Sorry. Hank

There is a hole in the bottom of the ingredient bowl

Hi,
There is a sealed bearing located at the bottom of the bread pan. This bearing has a shaft in it that the paddle connects to. I'm sorry to say that this seal is broken, allowing liquid to drip out of the pan. You need to replace the bread pan. Hank

Hitachi HB C103 bread machine pan seal

The problem isn't the seal, it is the bearing. You need to disassemble it, clean it, and lubricate it. Turn the pan upside down, and there's a C-ring that you need to pry off. Then you can tap the shaft through the bearing, and it will fall out. Clean the shaft and inside of the bearing, lubricate it, and reassemble.

I usually lubricate with vegetable oil, to avoid any chance of noxious contamination getting into the bread, but I've read a recommendation to use liquid graphite lock lubricant, available from NAPA Auto Parts, to prevent the bearing from sticking again as soon:

BTW, be careful of that rubber seal -- they are apparently irreplaceable! (I need one, if you find a source.)

Breadman TR2200C Ultimate Bread Maker pan leak

I was finally able to find a same size of heavy duty shaft seal from McMaster-Carr and installed on the pan with liquid weld after greased its inside. I put an extra washer on the shaft as well since the shaft itself was worn a little and wobbled . I needed a new snap ring to secure the spindle in place. Old one was rusted and disappeared.

Our bread machine is now back to work and we enjoy having a tasty bread every morning again.

Bread pan pops out during kneading, hard to remove after baking

I have Breadman Ultimate for over 12 years now. I make bread 2-3 times a week for the past 10 years. I found that the bread pan popping out only happens when the motor shaft and the kneading paddle are not tightly engaged. I find this problem in the following two scenarios: 1. The bread pan was not pushed down all the way as described by cassie_hobbs and tlcquiltnut. 2. Debris filled up the motor-shaft bowl underneath the bread pan to prevent a tight engagement of the motor shaft and the kneading paddle. These debris are generated during the kneading process; part of the ingredients is pushed out of the shallow horizontal pan and accumulated underneath. To avoid the problem, I have to periodically remove debris from the shaft bowl and make sure the pan pushed all the way down. To reduce the debris, I made a simple cover for the bread pan by cutting an old aluminum baking dish. I always remove the cover after the kneading cycle to prevent the rising dough from reaching the bottom of the cover. Hope this helps. Wendy

Bread machine kneading blades

Make sure you line the blade up with the post, and push down firmly on the blade. The top of the post should be even with the top of the blade.
(I occassionally forget to push down, and have that problem. When I do push it down (not real hard) I do not have the problem). After bread is removed, I fill the pan with warm water to make it easier to remove the blades from the pan.
