Greetings Jasonlee Jon,

Unfortunately the only valid way to unlock your ipod at this point, is to reset your ipod altogether.
Here are the steps to doing so:

  1. Plug your ipod into your main itunes computer.
  2. Click on your ipod on the left hand side of your computer screen.
  3. Press restore.
Although this may be inconvenient, this is the only way. Please rate. Thank you for using FixYa. =)

I forgot my 4 digit passcode to my ipod it is not a touch

Hi Jamyia,

Unfortunately, the only way to access your iPod if you've forgotten your 4-Digit Passcode is to restore it through the computer you synced it with. Simply plug in the iPod, open iTunes, and click "Restore" on the iPod screen that opens up when you connect it to your computer. The computer will ask you if you do indeed want to restore it, so select "Ok" or "Yes" when prompted. This will restore your iPod to factory settings, meaning that you'll have to redownload your music or other files to it after it is restored. However, you'll then be able to set a new passcode and have full functionality restored!

Good luck!

I forgot my passcode for ipod touch, how do break passcode with different computer with out losing any music saved in it

What most likely has happened is that you or someone was trying to access your iPod and tried to enter a passcode to get in. After a certain amount of tries, your iPod will disable itself. Here's how you can get it back.

Step 1: Turn on your computer, and connect your iPod to your computer with the USB cable that came with your iPod.

Step 2: Open up iTunes on your computer.

Step 3: In iTunes, go to the left side of your screen and scroll down, when you see your iPod, select it.

Step 4: You should now see on the right side of your screen some general iPod information. Scroll down to until you see a "Restore" button.

I have run into the same problem and your best bet is to go out and get a new cord, then plug your ipod into your computer and restore it.
Hope this helps.

Forgot passcode my 9yr old son set the passcode and didnt relize what he had done

Try plugging it into your computer. Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons
at the same time until the screen goes black (can take longer than 10 seconds) then
let go of the sleep button (the button on the top of the unit) while keeping the
home button held in (the button on the front of the iPod). Keep the home button
held in until your computer recognizes new hardware. You should hear some sort of
sound coming from your computer speakers. That and the "installing new hardware"
notice should come up in your taskbar (this is where you computer shows the clock).
Let go of the home button once this happens. Open up iTunes and then restore it.
Keep in mind, that by restoring it, you will lose all data!!!!!

How to unlock ipod

To unlock your iPod you can plug it into the computer and then diconnect it. If you forgot or dont know the passcode once you disconnect it from the computer go into the settings on the ipod and change the passcode or just restore the iPod. If you restore the iPod though it will remove everything on it and all settings on it. Then it will reinstall the operating system and then you will have to sync everything back to it.

So i tried to put a diffrent passcode for my ipod touch because people new my passcode so i changed it then i tried to unlock it in the morning and i forgot the password what do i do

1. Plug the iPod into the primary computer linked to that iPod, the first computer you synchronized it with unless you have designated another computer as the primary computer.
2. Open iTunes and sync the iPod as normal.
3. Remove the iPod, following the normal removal procedure. The iPod unlocks automatically as you remove it.
this should unlock it if that don't work the try the restore option from itunes it will reset it to factory settings

Ipod touch passcode

Do you see in an icon for your ipod touch on the left hand panel of iTunes? It should be listed under "devices". you need to click that first.
Then go to the Summary tab. There is a "restore" button under the Version section. This will restore your iPod to factory defaults. You will loose all the custom data, and will have to re-sync it.
