Why is it hard to fill the gas tank, it only takes it slowly?

Most likely the gas filler neck has rust holes. There are also several hoses on the neck that can deteriorate with age. Repair or replace.

Gas leak from tank when filled and constant smell of gas

The tank's filler tube may be leaking either at a hose clamp connection or metal tube rusted away and has holes.

That's what hapened to my 1990 Cadillac Deville, anyway. Had to replace the filler neck.

Leaky fuel fill pipe

Is it rusted and leaking, only when filling at gas pump? Check where leak is. eg rubber hose or pipe. You can remove and solder pin holes. Kind of old to look for a new part.

How to clean rust from motorcycle gas tank

To remove the loose rust fill the tank to 1/4 of its capacity with small pebbles and shake it. To remove the rest fill the tank up to 1/10 with rust converter solution and slowly rotate it to cover all the rusted parts for at least half an hour.

Check gas cap light comes on, i clear the code but comes back every 50 to 75 miles

I bet you have a rust hole in the fill tube going to the gas tank.

When i fill up the gas tank the alot of gas comes out the bottom onto the ground

You probably have a leak in the fill tube that goes from the gas cap nozzle (where you fill the gas) down to the tank. If you get under the car, or look up through the wheel well (you might have to remove the liner in the well), you should be able to see the fill tube. If it's old, cracked, worn, broken, or has a hole in it, that'd do it for sure. That's my bet anyhow - either a leaking tube due to damage/rust, or if it's a two-piece design, a clamp that has failed and isn't sealing the two halves together.
