The outer glass lens has come apart from the body of the lens. The part has a thread but I don't know how to re-assemble it. Any ideas?

Is this a completely flat piece of glass? If so, it is only what is called a filter (probably a UV filter) and is not vital to the functioning of the lens. It's an accessory that is mostly used to protect the actual front element of the lens. Filters normally have a screw thread that simply screws into the front of a lens.

If the part that has come loose is curved on either surface, then it is part of the lens and you may need to have a comera shop help you put it back.

How do I disassemble a 20 zoom lens for a Sony V1U camcorder?

Jeff, to assemble a lens, you need a collimator to make sure all optical elements ate correct in place. You need skills and a manual, to be able to adjust all lens elements in a correct order.

Asking this question, I'm sure you don't have a manual, a collimator and you miss the skills. So if you don't want to end up with a pile if glass, unable to act as a lens, please don't try this yourself. Even Sony will not reassemble the lens if you took it apart. If you really need a lens to b cleaned, please bring it to a Sony certified service centre and ask them what it will cost to clean / replace the lens.

Remove haze inside headlights 2003 buick century

Are you sure it is inside? I don't think the assemblies can be dismantled, since they are a sealed unit. I don't know of any that can be taken apart, so a problem on the inside of the lens would require replacement. But any store with an auto shelf or section stocks headlight lens polishing kits for cleaning the outside of the lens or assembly and bringing them back to new condition.

I'm not sure how to explain this, but I think the glass of the lens of the digicam is gone. Like in the lens, there's usually a really small hole, then a glass that protects it, right? When I got...

If the lens element is missing there's no way to repair or replace it without having that exact same lens to take apart for the missing piece. It's easier and faster to look for a refurbished lens online and just swap it out. Don't know your camera model so I can't help with pricing. Hope this helps!

F EEwhen i put the camera on don`t shut

This means one of two things:-

1. You have not set the lens to it's smallest aperture before fitting it to the camera body; or...

2. The EE servo coupling post on the outer edge of the lens mounting flange on the body has broken off. This is a switch which senses when the lens is set to it's minimum aperture. Looking at the camera body, with the lens removed, it's at about the eight o' clock position on the outer edge of the body lens mounting flange.

1. is easily fixed:just fit the lens correctly. 2. Really needs a professional repair, but as you can get a used F60 (N60 in USA) for free these days (FreeCycle/Freegle) it's not worth doing: just fasten it permanently in the "activated" position. Do a bit of googling and you'll see what I mean.

I hope this has solved your problem, if so please rate my answer.

Cannot auto focus?

This happened to me as well. Fixed it easily, once I balled up and took apart the lens.

bike guy is right on the money. The linkage between the autofocus motor and the lens assembly has popped out.

Luckily, this repair does not require and parts. The linkage just slides back together.

Take apart the lens starting from the back. After removing enough parts you should be able to see down into the lens and at the lens assembly that moves when you zoom. There should also be a ring that, has 5 contacts facing up, and if you move it turn the AF motor.

You should see the linkage coming off this ring and should see where it should sit. If the problem is this linkage (which looks like a bar extending towards the front of the lens), it won't be seated properly. Use a small screwdriver to pop it back in.

This repair requires a bit of handiness, but mostly it's just taking out small screws, being patient, and putting it back together. I'm not going to put instructions, because if you're going to take apart a lens, you should know your way around electronics.
