Hi there, I have a solution for you. Unplug the printer/scanner for 30min. then plug it back in again.
This will reset all functions. The usb cable was good to start with, you didn't have to replace it..
When you run a print over another print it will jam up memory in printer. Clear all print jobs and you will be good to go.
The error indicates that the scanner has stalled or jammed. Here's an article on 2200 Error on the Lexmark X7100 Series All-In-One. Just click on this link: http://bit.ly/aBUoJK. Just follow the troubleshooting steps on the page. If all else fails, I suggest you contact Lexmark Technical Support to further investigate the problem. Thanks.
I had a 7170 series that gave similar, not quite as bad as yours, problems. Lexmark is a good name quality all in one. But, I believe it's time to upgrade. These rollers and drums are very easily put out of sync. And from there on you'll have nothing but troubles. The scanner situation is probably forming a very light coat of rust on the out rail and causing it to hang up. I honestly wouldn't put much more money or stress(your own) into this machine. Thanks, Dana.
