You don't say what brand or model camera, so I can't be more specific. Go to the manufacturer's website. Go to Support, or Support & Downloads. Search for your model on cam, and download the software/drivers.
when you buy digital camera They will provide you 1 CD .
keep that CD in your system and install all software's...... and select web cam access............
On that time you can run web cam from u r camera
If you have Vista or Windows 7, most web cams will auto install. Simply plug them in and reboot. Some even install right away - again if one of the operating systems, then go to start/devices and printers/ then double click on the new web cam icon to test. if older XP or other, then you will need the driver. You did not specify the make model so I cannot provide a link to the correct software. If new item, it should have a CD that will autoinstall on insert.
If installing for Skype or MSN - you will need to enable through their tools /Options menus. and test
