Try removing the Ethernet cable that is connected to computer. See if this allows it to go thru. If not then the Ethernet card could be bad. You can remove the Ethernet card from computer and reload computer it should load up fine.

If you remove the Ethernet card you would be able to access WiFi if the computer has a wireless adapter or wireless card installed on it. You can remove the Ethernet card by removing the side panel of your computer. usually a couple screws on back of computer. Then once side panel is removed you should see the Ethernet card down towards the bottom of the computer. Only one screw holds it in place. You can remove with a Phillips screw driver.

You can also try to load the bios. When turning on computer usually the F2 key will bring it up. Using the arrow keys find the boot up menu. Try disabling the Ethernet for a boot up option.

Remove the hard drive and reseat (reconnect). Check BIOS by pressing an F key during boot. Look on the screen for correct Function key. Might be F2 key. Verify BIOS recognizes the drive. It must be listed! There is no going forward if it's not. Check boot order and make internal hard drive first. Save and restart.

Check the boot sequence. For a normal boot, it should be set to hard disk as first item, not the network.

I tried to download windows 7 on my ACER 5351, and near the end the laptop restarted. It came up with this error code : Cannot boot from CD: Code 5. When I took the CD out, the following error code...

The error PXE-E61: Media test failure usually means the hard diskhas failed or the hard disk needs re-seating or the disk controller is faulty. First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Next - to check if the harddrive is faulty, remove the hard drive and insert it into an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a workingcomputer's USB port. If this computer cannot see itas an external hard drive and you cannot open the various folders and files, this confirms the hard drive is faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.

It seemed that the laptop is booting to the network to correct this
1. Go to the BIOS Check if the hard drive is detected by the computer (Hard drives are usually shown as alpha numeric) 2. If the hard drive is detected make sure that the hard drive is the first boot device 3. Save all changes and restart the computer 4. If the hard drive is still not detected you have to take out the hard drive and put it back in (reseat the hard drive) 5. Go to the BIOS again check if the hard drive is detected if not replace the hard drive

Hope this helps

Every time I turn on my computer the following message appears: "For PCIE Atheros Ethernet controller v1.0.0.5 Check cable connection ..! pxe-e63: error while initializing the NIC pxe-mof:...

It sounds like the hard disk is faulty, the machine is trying to boot via the network card as it cannot find a bootable disk. You could try removing the hard drive and reseating it but the disk could be dead.

Disregard the PXE-E63 Errors. The only one to pay attention to is the "Disk read error occured". Some Acer models always give these errors but as far as I can tell the PXE errors are nothing to worry about and thus have never given me any issues in my career.

Reseat the Hard drive when the machine is switched off and power is unplugged and battery is disconnected.

If you can test the hard drive for bad sectors OR if it picks up in another machine by installing it into a external hard drive casing. This case can either be mini-IDE or SATA.

Also you could get a bootable hard drive tester and test the hard drive on your machine to work-around the above.

As a final suggestion, replace hard drive and send in original hard drive for data recovery if needed.

Pc error

By looking at your problem, Harddisk is not listed in the BIOS oot device priority.
I suggest you to go to bios and load optimal defaults and save it, try booting it should boot if your OS is not corrupted.
If your OS is corrupted then you must reinstall the OS by using your re-installation CD/DVD.

Sometimes you will also face this problem, if the hard-disk is not detected, Remove the hard-disk from laptop and reinsert it, then try booting.

This should fix your problem.

If you still persist the same problem then the hard-disk must be corrupted or must have got bad sectors.

My computer fell and when I turned it back on it's saying check cable connection..! PXE-E63: Error while initializing the NIC pxe-m0f:Exiting Intel pxe rom no bootable device

Usually, your computer tries to "boot" from multiple sources:

1. 3.5" diskette drive, if installed, functional, and a boot-diskette is inserted
2. CD-ROM drive, if installed, functional, and a boot-CD (such as the Windows XP CD-ROM) is inserted
3. disk-drive, if installed, functional, and the "boot" record can be read from the disk-drive
4. from the Ethernet network, via a "networked boot server"

So, "check cable" means that either no Ethernet cable is connected to the computer, or that the "networked boot server" is not installed, or the boot-server did not reply.

What this means is that your disk-drive was damaged by the fall, and the "boot" information cannot be read from the disk-drive.

So, you need to replace the disk-drive.
