Java is one of many third-party applications that enhance your experience onyour Microsoft Windows XP Professional operating system. Java, developed by SunMicrosystems, is a programming language and computerplatform that is the backbone behind many of the programs you use today, including games, businessapplications and utilities. Software developers choose the Java platformbecause it has been tried and proven to work the best. Java publishers focus onperformance, stability and security. It's easy to get the latest version ofJava and install it on your XP Professional system.

1. Manually download. Visit the Java site to download the Java application;ensure the version is Windows XP compatible. 2. Begin installation. Close anyopen Web browsers and applications. Click on the saved Java download file.Click "Run." Read any warnings and agreements. Acknowledgeconfirmations as you proceed, selecting "Next" until eventuallygetting to the "Install" button, and click that as well. 3. Read intermediateinstallation messages. As the main Java application installs, you may encounteradditional advertisements. Read, make decisions, and click the "Next"button to proceed. A "Progress" window will indicate "Status:Installing Java." 4. Verify installation. Afterinstallation is complete, the Java setup window will show "You havesuccessfully installed Java." Click the "Close" button and resumeusing your PC per usual.
5. For additional verification that Java was installed, refer back to theoriginal page from where the application was downloaded. Find the link"Verify Now." Click it to advance the page, and select the red"Verify Java version" button. Wait while the Web page verifies theversion.
TIPS and WARNINGS
After first-time Java installation, the application can be accessed from theWindows XP Professional "Control Panel" on the "StartMenu." After opening the app, click on the "Update" tab toretrieve the most recent version of Java.
It is important to keep Java on Windows XP Professional systems updated forsecurity reasons as vulnerabilities might exist in outdated versions.

The device language can be changed from language settings. Check for device firmware updates as well. If Arabic language is not at your phones language, you need to flash your phone with Arabic language flash file. You need to have flashing software, Arabic language firmware.

Arabic font nosupport

During a clean WinXP installation, the Arabic fonts are installed as part of what Microsoft calls
Complex Script fonts. (MS documentation.)

To add Arabic font support to WinXP follow these steps.

  1. Download fbarab.zip from this site.
  2. Extract the installation package from fbarab.zip with a decompression utility.
  3. Run fbarab.exe to install the Arabic keyboard layouts.
  4. Restart Windows.
  5. Load the keyboard layouts:
    1. Click on the Start button.
    2. Click on Control Panel.
      • The Control Panel is directly accessible in the standard Start menu but it is inside Settings in the classic Start menu.
    3. Click on "Date, Time, Language and Regional Options."
    4. Select the "Add other languages" task.
      • Or click on "Regional and Language Options" and select the Languages tab.
    5. Check the "Install files for complex script and right-to-left languages" option and click on the Apply button.
    6. Click Yes when you are asked to restart Windows.
    7. Go to "Add other languages" again and click on the Details button.
    8. Click on the Add button.
    9. Select Arabic in the drop-down list of input languages and select Arabic ASDF Eastern or Arabic ASDF Western in the drop-down list of keyboard layouts.
    10. Click OK as many times as you are prompted to and then close "Date, Time, Language and Regional Options."

For MS Office:

  1. Click on the Start button.
  2. Move the pointer over Microsoft Office Tools in Programs and click on Microsoft Office Language Settings.
  3. Select the Enabled Languages tab, check Arabic and click OK.
  4. Leave your preferred language as it is unless you really want to change it and click OK.
  5. Click OK.
I hope that helps.

Setting Up Arabic in Windows XP

Adding the Language to Windows

The following instructions will help you to set up your keyboard layout for Arabic that matches the DataCal Keyboard Labels.

Step 1. Install Supplemental Language Support
The Arabic language requires that you install Supplemental Language Support before you can set it up in Windows.
  1. Select the Start button in the lower left corner of the Desktop.
  2. Select the Control Panel (or, if you are using the Windows Classic Setting, select Settings > Control Panel).
  3. In the Control Panel, double-click the Regional and Language Options item.
  4. In the Regional and Languages dialog box, click on the Languages tab. In the Supplemental language support section, click on the Install files for complex script and right-to-left languages (including Thai) option (see Figure below).
  5. Click on the Apply button in the lower right corner of the dialog box and then click on the OK button. You may be prompted to insert your Windows install CD into the CD drive.

Step 2. Add Language to Windows
  1. In the Control Panel, double-click the Regional and Language Options item.
  2. In the Regional and Languages dialog box, click on the Languages tab.
1. Click on the Details button in the Text services and input languages section of the Language tab to open the Text Services and Input Languages dialog box.

2. To add a language, click the Add button in the Installed services section to open the Add Input Language dialog box.

3. Click on the arrow to the right of the selector in the Input language selector and scroll to Arabic.

4. The Keyboard Layout/IME should default to the Arabic keyboard layout. If it does not, click on the arrow to the right of the selector in the Keyboard layout/IME selector and scroll to the Arabic keyboard layout. Note that there often are different keyboard layouts for a language. You should select the language and keyboard layout that matches the DataCal Keytop Label.

5. After you select the language and keyboard layout, click on the OK button to close the Add input language dialog box.

6. When you return to the Text services and input languages dialog box, you will see the new input language and keyboard layout included in the Installed Services box.

7. Click on the Apply button to apply the changes to the new layout. Note that each language features a small blue box in the Installed services section with 2 letters that indicates the language. English is designated as EN.

196bdcc.gif
  1. If you do not wish to add any additional languages or layouts, you can click on OK to close the Text services and input languages dialog box. When you return to the Windows Desktop, you can see the language bar in the lower right corner of the Desktop.
  2. To change the language and keyboard layout, click on the two-letter language selector box with the left mouse button to open the language selector menu.
  3. Click on the language that you wish to use in the language selector pop up menu.
The language you select will remain in effect in active Windows application until you select a different language. For example, if you select the Arabic language and keyboard layout in Microsoft Excel and English in Microsoft Word, each application will use that keyboard layout until you exit the application or you select a different language.

Default Keyboard Layout

If you wish to make a particular keyboard layout the default Windows layout (i.e., to be used in all Windows applications), open the Text services and input languages dialog box.
Select the desired keyboard layout to be the default in the Default input language section of the dialog box.

I hope it helps.
