Question about Bosch Classixx KGV28323 Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

1 Answer

Freezer not working

The freezer should be frost free.
The freezer will frost up and block the vent so that the cold air cannot be blown into the fridge to cool the fridge.
There is no lights on to show the temperture of the freezer.

My Westinghouse Frost Free fridge is not working. The freezer is working. It is has the freezer on top of the fridge, separate doors

Even though it is frost free, try defrosting it by turning it off with the doors open for a few hours. There may be ice or something else blocking the vent between the freezer and refrigerator sections. Of course you will need to remove everything from the fridg and freezer and store it somewhere else that is cold.

My whole bottom freezer is frosted over what should i do

When a (frost-free) freezer is frosted, it is either not closing/closed properly - allowing (outside) air to get in ... or, there is a "leak" (in the freezer) allowing (moist) air to get into that chamber, and/or, the "fan" (system) that circulates/removes (moist) air from the freezer is not working properly or the "vents" are blocked.

Check the freezer door "closing" possibility first ... and if it's not the case, (get a technician/repair person to) check out the freezer circulation system.

I have a kitchenaid, KSRS25RSMS01, refrigerator and the freezer is fine and the fridge is not cooling. I have checked the evaporator and it has normal frost, and the fan is turning fine, but the air coming...

Your frig has the classic symptoms of a frig with a clogged or blocked vent between the
freezer section and the refrigerated section. This clog can occur due to (a) stuff in the freezer blocking the vent, or (b) ice in the freezer blocking the vent, or (c) both of the above.

The way a refrigerator works is it cools the freezer, and the warmest air in the freezer is vented out
to the refrigerator section. If this vent is blocked (and everything else is working), your refrigerator
just became a eye-level small freezer atop a well-insulated section of dangerously warm food.

The freezer works well but the fridge is not cooling.

Classic symptom of: the connection passageway between the freezer and the fridge compartment
has closed off - usually due to ice buildup - or something clogging/blocking the passageway.
Your Refrigerator works by releasing cold air into only the freezer, then this cold air passes thru
a passageway into the fridge compartment to cold (but not freeze) the fridge compartment contents.
If this passageway is blocked, then just the freezer works, and cold air never makes it into the
fridge compartment. In the old days, you'd be told to defrost your freezer, since the blockage
was ALWAYS caused by frost buildup. Today, we have frost-free freezers, and your freezer may
simply have too much stuff inside - there has to be some room to allow some air flow around
items in the freezer, and whichever item is blocking the air passage to the fridge compartment -
just move it away from the passageway opening.

Freezer cold, fridge isnt. Vent issue. Please Help before thaw!

Is there any ice/snow whatsoever built-up on the rear panel of the freezer ????(very important to know this).
If so, you have a problem with the frost free part of your fridge, causing it to ice-up,
and blocking the air flow to the fridge section.

Repost, and we should be able to go from there.

Wigo.

What causes freezer to ice up and the refridgerator not get real cold, with all vents unblocked.

((((( In Lamens Terms ))))) The evaperator gets so cold it frosts up. This is caused because freon is compressed and shot out into the evaperator making it cold. There is a fan circulating the air over the evaperator to cool the air in the freezer. As this continues, so much frost can start to block the air flow. (( so what they did, is put a heater in there with a timer so it would defrost the evaperator every 8 to 10 hrs, so the air would keep flowing )) Now if the heater quits working then it will frost and creat a block of ice. The block of ice, blocks the air flow and the air quits getting colder. Also after time the compressor will over heat and shut down untill it cools or burns up.

Refrigerator not working but freezer is

You have two vents between the freezer and fridge. The one the cold air from the freezer comes through(blown by the fan) and the other vent is a return vent back to the freezer. On a side/side they're at the top and bottom. It sounds like the bottom one may be blocked by food or frosted closed by ice.

Refrigerator is barley cold, still makes ice, condensation inside of frostless freezer

Hi: The fact that it still makes ice tells me the freezer is a zero degrees. When you said condensation in the freezer did you mean frost? If your defrost heater fails it will cause the frost free freezer to build up frost. The frost will build up and block the vent that supplies the cold air to the fresh food. The defrost heater is behind the metal wall at the back of the freezer, at the very bottom. A glass tube with a metal coil in it. The coil can break and stop the defrosting. Replace that. Use a hair dryer to melt the frost from behind the panel. All of it top to bottom. You need to remove all the frost to free up the airways. I hope this helps, Jeff

Kenmore side by side, fridge not very cold 106.56249400

Hi: I hope I have the Information right. Since your freezer is working that means that your freezer is so full that you blocked the vents (not common,) or your defrost heater is out, or your defrost timer is bad. Since your fridge should be frostless it requires the vents to circulate air. Now that there is frost building behing the panel it blocks the air to your fresh food. If you are handy the defrost heater is at the bottom of the freezer behind the metal wall in the back (a coil in a glass tube) You can inspect if the filimant is broken replace the heater. The defrost timer can be mounted in various places , sometimes on a circuit board. Since it usually is the heater I wont go into detail. The good thing it's not the compressor. You can take a hair dryer to the metal panel in the back fo the freezer to check. If it is betond your expertise melting the frost that has collected back there will make the fridge work for another week or two. Until the frost builds back up again.Feel free to contact me again if you get it apart and have a question. I hope this helps, Jeff

Frost Free, freezer ok but fridge warm

If all else fails I would completely defrosted the unit.If there is any blockage this will open up all the tubes.Unplug it open the doors put pans of hot water in the freezer to speed up the process.
Make sure your fan is still working ,its located behind the freezers back wall. If it is working the vent from the freezer down to the refridgerater may be blocked. With out a fan you have no circulation but your freezer may look likes its working,it may last 3 days. Also if you can move everything out unplug it turn it off w/ doors open 12 to 24 hrs this will free up any clogged tubes. Good luck.
