Question about HP PSC 2110 Color Printer

1 Answer

My printer was in storage for a year, I now have it out and put new cartridges in it and it said it needed to align, so it printed out the aligning paper however it then said scanner failure and the scanner started clicking to the right reaptedly so I turned it off and back on and now everytime I turn on the printer the scanner clicks to right for about a minute then stops and the printer wont print, scan or copy, when I hit anyone of those it says its doing it but remains silent and still doing absolutely nothing. Please help me, I just spent $100 dollars on new cartridges and I would really hate to have to buy another printer. I even spent hours last night cleaning it thouroughly and that didnt even help.

Ok I just did a partial reset, unfortunately it didnt work! Thanks for the suggestion though. :) The scanner is still clicking to the right and now the cartridges make a grinding noise and the screen says open door and remove carriage jam. So I guess I will just have to buy another printer :( but it will not be an HP. hehe

Do the following:
a partial reset by pressing and holding Cancel and the Left Arrow while plugging in the power cord.

Wait 30 seconds (which was originally designed by help desks so the clients would calm down).
Hold down cancel and LEFT arrow buttons on HP 2110, while plugging the power to HP 2110.
Release the cancel and LEFT arrow buttons.

My hp officejet 7410 printer which has been working fine for a year suddenly will not print. after putting in new cartridges it printed out an alignment page. But still will not print a normal page. ...

Hi,

Click on the Setup button,
Scroll till you find Tools - Press OK
Scroll till you find Clean Cartridge - Press OK

It will print an alignment sheet. Align the printer

If this does not work - try the Align Printer Option from Tools of Setup menu again from Printer front panel.

Let me know if none of these work.

Shawn

I put in a new ink cartridge and I can't print....it keeps saying..."align printer". This has never happened to me before. What should I do? Thank you for your assistance.

You need to align a printer everytime you put a new cartridge in. It is a 2 step process
1 the printer will print an alignment page - usually coloured squares. 2 You then scan this page back into the printer - alignment is then complete.
this is the link to the manual page 42 through 44 explain about installing a new cartridge and the alignment process.

Printer will not align

Print cartridge

When the print cartridge contacts are dirty and the printer cannot detect/communicate with print cartridge.

Clean the contact points on the cartridges with a dry, lint-free cloth.

1. Open the top cover of the printer.

2. Remove the print cartridges.

3. Clean the copper-colored contact points on the cartridges with a damp, lint-free cloth.
Use a dry, lint-free cloth to remove moisture from the contacts.

5. Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

6. Close the top cover.

7. Try printing again.

If you still cant communicate try with new cartridge .

My printer wnt work i boght new ink but it wont print

Hi

whenever you put new ink cartridges, your printer prints an alignment sheet
if your printer isn't printing,
one of the concern could be that it didn't print the alignment, uninstall the cartridges and put them back again.

also try printing an alignment sheet using the printer driver located in the control panel, printers and faxes
once you go into the properties and click on the device settings and click on service this device you will get option to print alignment sheet
this should work

Printer keeps showing : Press enter to align cartridges. After doing this it then prints out an alignment page and shows: Alignment failed please: Press enter Alignment failed. This goes on and on. I have...

I have found that if I put in an old aligned page the printer reads it as and the alignment is accepted. As for the cancelled message being in the window, I have had this problem too. I've ignored it and selected the copy button and it took the command. The only problem with hitting cancel is that you cannot turn off your printer. Every time you do you have to repeat the aligning and cancellation process.

Printer is telling me i have alignement problems

Anytime you remove the cartridge the printer wants to align the print head. It doesn't matter whether you used it or not as long as you change/remove and/or install a new or old cartridge, it will ask to align. If you are printing text only and no pictures, then usually alignment is not critical. Though from experience, it is but usually 9 times out of 10 I don't need to re-align. But if you want to print pictures then you must align.

Align page message

I have an OfficeJet 5780 and I have to do the alignment also. The allignment page it prints should have instructions on it. Just put it in the scanner and press "Enter". It needs to scan it to align the print heads.

This is from the manual on their website:

The HP Officejet prompts you to align cartridges every time you install or
replace a print cartridge. Aligning the cartridges ensures high-quality output.
To align the print cartridges when prompted:
1 Press Enter on the front panel.
An align cartridges (test pattern) page prints.
2 Load the align cartridges page face down in the ADF between the paperwidth
guides and press the Enter button again.
3 Recycle or discard the page.

Hp 2110 All in One Printer

Does the machine ask you to "align" the print cartridges when you turn the machine back on? If the alignment page when finished printing is missing a key color (say yellow), then the alignment will not succeed.
