Question about Conair Vacuums

3 Answers

Conair does not sell the springs for their curling iron. Mine keep breaking and I do not want to keep buying a whole new curling iron just because the wire spring has broken. Instant Heat curling iron, model number CD8sWCS. Do you know where I can buy these springs or how I can improvise with something that will work almost as well?

I need advise on the solution to aquiring a new spring, not advise as to what product to buy in the future. I have several curling irons that only need a new spring to be "like new again." Please tell me how to get a new spring or how I can improvise with something else that will work in place of a spring. Conair instant hear curling iron model number CD82WCS.

Thanks for trying, but Conair does not sell the springs. I have already called them and checked their web site.

  • suepudwill Nov 11, 2010

    Any creative ideas?

  • suepudwill Nov 19, 2010

I do not see how the weak wire from a twist tie can compare to the strength of specially processed wire in a spring. Definately looking for a more plausible solution.

That certainly is another approach. I will try to find the actual manufacturer. Thank you.

Hi,

The best thing I know of is to take a wire bread bag tie....take the paper off of it so that you just have the wire part... twist this around the two ends of the wires where it broke...this will contect the two wires and ti should work again....only problem that I can see is that it may catch in your hair....folding the ends over tightly and crimping them with a pliers may help that out....

I'm sure there is no replacement part available for that as they want to sell you a new one avery few months....hopefully this will get you a bit more time out of a broken one...

You will need to contact Conair at 1-800-326-6247 to order a replacement wire spring. Doing this will be cheaper then buying a new curling iron.

Buy one made in the USA. Foreign made steel contains lead in their steel causing these springs to go out faster than good old US Made ones do

Often when ironing, the iron{tefal aquaspeed 160] will spit dirty water on whatever I'm ironing.are you supposed to use botled water in iron?Aren't tefal irons made for tap water? Also how do you stop iron...

Try using CLR cleaner, if not just buy a new one, and keep the receipt for a return down the road, these iron's are reasonable nowadays.

I have a dyson dc07 hoover, is it possible to replace the carry handle

Hi thanks for contacting FixYa. My name is Don.

Whilst it is "possible" to fix the carry handle it is a far trickier job than just buying a whole new Cyclone. For this reason Dyson do not sell the handle separately.

I would suggest you buy the whole new cyclone. You can buy them new for around £30 £40 from Dyson or Espares.co.uk.

You could probably get a second hand one or better still a refurbished one on eBay though. Shouldnt cost you too much on Ebay. Maybe £15

Hope this answers your query.

Thanks for contacting FixYa. Don

Euro-pro iron. red light on. green light blinks on but iron will not heat up. lights do not progress through yellow (does not go past green) purchased from walmart with warranty extention on 12/08. ...

When the green light stops blinking and is solid, the iron is ready for use. Touch the handle and begin using. but as you mentioned that green light is blinking and the iron is not heating then there is definitely a short in wire some where it has to be checked.most probably its the short in the heating coil wire.but if the heating coil wire is proper and not short then your irons heating coil probally went bad its alot cheaper to just buy a new iron .because heating coil costs near to new iron.but still get confirm if its short in wire. This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya

If it won't pop back into the cradle that holds it in standing position, take off the entire hose and check for long items such as pens and pencils.
