Husqvarna 50 chain keeps coming off

Are you adjusting the chain tension correctly?? Make sure the bar in installed correctly with the tension adjustment pin in the appropriate hole. Elevate the tip of the guide bar while adjusting the chain adjustment screw until the chain is snug but not tight. Then tighten the bar bolts without lowering the tip of the bar. Also ensure the drive links are engaging the sprocket correctly.

If the chain is adjusted correctly and the problem still exists, remove the sprocket side cover, bar and chain and inspect the sprocket for extreme wear. Once the sprocket is worn excessively it won't want to engage the drive links of the chain correctly which could be the source of the problem. If so, replace both the sprocket and the chain because the excess wear of the sprocket could have damaged the drive links of the chain and putting an old worn chain back on with a new sprocket will cause the new sprocket to begin wearing prematurely.

Chain adjustment

Just a guess, but beings you didn't give YEAR/MAKE/MODEL, that's all I can do.

IF it's the rear drive chain you're talking about (as opposed to the primary chain), get rear wheel off the ground.
With bike in neutral, rotate rear wheel until you find the tightest spot of the chain in the middle between the rear sprocket and the transmission sprocket.
Loosen axle nut, adjust rear axle adjusters evenly until slack is within spec.
Rotate rear wheel in normal direction of travel and see that chain is tracking true on sprocket. If not, adjust as needed with axle adjusters.
IF mechanical rear brake (instead of hydraulic rear brake), adjust brake.

Need to replace chain on farm boss with 20 inch bar how do i get to sprocket to get old chain off

Release the chain brake. Remove the nuts/bolts that hold the right hand cover over the drive end of the bar. With the cover off, the bar will slide back toward the engine and allow the chain to be removed. Note the direction of the cutting teeth! Clean the side of the engine where the bar fits to, and the small oil passages in the bar drive end that run from the large holes out to the chain groove on each edge. Also clean the entire chain groove. Fit the new chain to the sprocket, then insert the bar and work the chain onto it. Pull out on the bar until the chain fits fairly tight, then fit the cleaned cover over the drive. You may have to change the position of the chain adjustment screw a few turns to allow the adjustment 'tang' to drop into one of the large holes in the bar. Make sure the cover is fully seated, then run the fasteners down finger tight. Turn the chain adjuster screw CW until the chain pulls up to the bottom edge of the bar, but not so tight that you can't turn the chain by hand. Tighten the fasteners fully and recheck chain tension. Start the engine and run the tip of the bar near some cardboard at speed for a moment or two--proper oiling is indicated by a thin line of oil thrown onto the cardboard. Be sure to keep the chain teeth sharp and properly adjust chain tension--don't allow it to droop when cutting. Hope this helps!

Wild thing chain saw chain came off

The drive links are burred.
512b519.jpg Use a file on the flats of the drive links to remove all burrs.
Then install and properly tension the chain

Chain Adjustment
  1. Make sure the chain brake is off (gloves will protest your fingers).
  2. If necessary, loosen the bar nuts that are clamping the clutch cover in place (or whatever holds the clutch cover and bar on). They do not need these really loose - finger tight will do.
  3. Ease the tension adjustment until the chain is obviously loose.
  4. Using one hand, hold the nose of the bar up.
  5. While holding the nose up, adjust the tensioner so that the center of the chain just touches the underside of the bar, add a touch more.
  6. Continue holding the nose of the bar up & tighten up the bar nuts / bolts / quick-release system. HTH

Chain keeps coming off and when is on wont cut

If you are having difficulty fitting the drive links into the bar groove, the chain binds or rides up when rotated there may be burrs on the drive links. These often form if the chain comes off while at speed. use a file on the drive link flats to remove them.

Chain has slack when sitting on bike...how do I tighten the drive chain to avoid the chain from rattling on chain guard?

Loosen the nut on the axle and adjust the chain adjusters to pull the axle to the rear. Make sure that each adjuster is moved an equal amount and when finished should protrude an equal amount. Retorque axle to 50-60 foot pounds of torque.
