Maybe the server is full you need to tunnel the room to join the parties. Try to off your firewall so that it is not blocked.
Thanks, Necie

This problem also happen to me. My DI-524 router always said my NAT was *Moderate*. I change DHCP and have UPnP turned on. Rebooting the router made no difference. On a whim I turned off the "Discard PING from WAN side" option in the router (Tools tab, Misc. button) and re-tested. Woohoo! It said my NAT is OPEN! Oddly, I turned "Discard PING from WAN side" back ON and my XBox360 still says my NAT is OPEN. Weird. Maybe just changing it and then changing it back somehow reset something in the firmware. I don't understand it but it worked for me.

are you sure your nat is open, because it sounds like a network problem, other thing you can do is installing black ops on xbox hdd if you have one, it will make things quicker. Also if you switch firewall off on ypur modem/router that might help.

It wont let me join a party or play my one friend on xbox live. all my settings are set to OPEN and so are his because i can play all my other friends just not this one.

You should make sure your NAT is open ! This allows you to communicate with fellow gamers ! Go to your router settings and find DMZ setting. Once found find your xbox IP address and enter it into the DMZ ! This should work if not post back!

When i play modern warfare 2 online i go to look for other players and it doesent find any

This could be due to your internet connection or NAT type.

When your in the lobby by yourself were it displays your NAT type, if it says moderate or strict then use this link:
http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/nxe/kb.aspx?id=979000&lcid=1033

If your NAT type is open, it could be your internet connection.
You might want to upgrade your internet package if it is your connection and never try playing online with a dial up or phone line connection.

hope this helped.

I am in the UK-my regular golfing partner on xbox in the US, suddenly can't play a game with him, can't private chat or join xbox party. Any suggestions?

well one thing that comes to mind is his NAT type mite have changed that can cause you to not be able to join game or chat and or xbox live partys so you can ask him if he can check his NAT type.

good luck :)

I cannot join parties on xbox live

Open or forward ports on the router for your Xbox. Get the ports from Xbox live then configure the router to allow those ports to pass.

The case is the way the network is setup are you connecting him via a router? Make sure your NAT is open on the router as well.

Halo 3

make sure your NAT is open, you can check this by running a connection test on your console. there are 3 types of NAT connection. Open, Moderate & Strict.

Open being the ideal option, strict meaning lots of problems connecting with talking and finding other players on xbox LIVE.

NAT settings can usually be found on your routers setup / settings page (usually http://192.168.1.1 ) but some routers may not have setttings for your NAT.

hope that helps
